Alright, so I’ve been messing around with feng shui lately, specifically with my staircase, and I gotta say, it’s been quite a ride. I read somewhere that the way your stairs are set up can mess with the flow of energy in your house, affecting your money, health, and even your relationships. Sounds wild, right? But I figured, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started
First thing I did was look at my stairs. They’re kinda just… there, leading up to the second floor. Didn’t think much about them before. I started digging around online and found out that the material of your stairs matters. Apparently, you want something solid and sturdy.
Mine are made of wood, which I guess is good. I mean, they feel pretty solid when I walk on them. No creaking or anything. But I did notice some wear and tear. I decided to repair some parts.
Figuring Out Placement
Then came the tricky part – placement. From what I gathered, where your stairs are in your house is super important for the whole energy flow thing. The best spot is apparently near the entrance, but not smack-dab in front of the main door. Like, you don’t want the energy, or “chi” as they call it, to just rush out the door.
My stairs are kinda off to the side when you walk in, so that seemed okay. The internet also said that the best direction is the south-west part of the house, or south, or west. Lucky me, mine are in the south-west, so I guess I dodged a bullet there. I felt relieved.
Making Some Changes
- Repairing the stairs: I got some wood filler and filled in those cracks, sanded them down, and gave the whole thing a fresh coat of varnish. It’s like, you gotta show your stairs some love, you know? Treat them like the energy pathways they are.
- Adding some plants: I put a couple of plants at the bottom and top of the stairs. Heard it helps with good energy flow. Plus, it just looks nicer.
The Outcome
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s the feng shui or just the fact that I spruced up the stairs, but the whole area feels different now. More… welcoming? Less cluttered? It’s hard to explain. Maybe it’s all in my head, but I feel like the energy in my house is a bit more balanced. And who knows, maybe my bank account will start looking better too! Fingers crossed! Anyway, it was a fun little project, and I’m glad I did it. It’s got me thinking about what other feng shui tweaks I can make around the house.
