What is my Japanese zodiac sign? Find your animal easily!

Okay, so today I was kinda curious about my Japanese zodiac sign. You know, like how we have Aries, Taurus, etc. in Western astrology? Well, Japan has its own version, called the Junishi.

Figuring Out the Japanese Zodiac

First, I hit up Google. I just typed in something simple like “Japanese zodiac signs” and boom, tons of stuff popped up. It turns out it’s based on a 12-year cycle, and each year is represented by an animal.

It’s not quite as simple as matching your birth year directly. I quickly realized it follows the lunar calendar, so the start date of each animal year changes slightly. This is where it got a little tricky.

Finding My Animal

  • I found a few websites that listed out the years and their corresponding animals.
  • I scrolled through until I found my birth year.
  • I quickly checked to make sure my birthday fell within the right range for that animal’s year, considering it’s based on lunar and not western years.
  • Finally, I discovered my sign is the snake.

So, yeah, that’s how I figured out my Japanese zodiac sign!It has been a fun exploration.
