Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into tarot for a while, and I finally decided to take the plunge. I did some digging around and kept seeing the “Tarot of the Witches” deck pop up. It looked really cool, and I liked the vibe, so I went for it!
First, I ordered the deck online. It arrived pretty quickly, which was awesome. I was so excited to open it up!
Unboxing and First Impressions
When I got the package, I ripped it open. The box itself was really pretty, with this cool artwork on it. Inside, the cards were neatly packed, and there was a little guidebook too.
I took the cards out and started flipping through them. Honestly, the artwork is what really drew me to this deck. It’s got this classic, kind of vintage feel, but also super colorful and unique. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at each card and taking it all in.
Getting to Know the Deck
After admiring the artwork, I decided to read through the guidebook. It’s not super detailed, but it gives you the basic meanings of each card, both upright and reversed. I found it helpful, but I also knew I’d need to do more research later on.
- I started by shuffling the deck, just to get a feel for the cards. They’re a little stiff at first, but I’m sure they’ll loosen up with use.
- Then, I tried doing a simple three-card spread – past, present, future. It was a little confusing at first, trying to interpret the cards, but it was also really fun!
- I did not understand the cards, and I looked up the meaning with the book.
My First (Very Basic) Reading
For my first real attempt, I decided to keep it simple. I asked a general question about my career path and pulled three cards. I laid them out, studied the images, and checked the guidebook for some guidance. It was actually kind of insightful! It didn’t give me a clear-cut answer, but it definitely gave me some things to think about.
Next Steps
- Continuing to practice!
I’m going to try and do a simple spread every day, just to get more familiar with the cards and their meanings.
- Doing more research.
The guidebook is a good starting point, but I want to dive deeper into the symbolism and different interpretations.
- Maybe find tarot books or online.
Overall, I’m really happy with the Tarot of the Witches deck. It’s beautiful, it feels good in my hands, and it’s already sparking my intuition. I’m excited to keep learning and exploring the world of tarot with this deck!
