Okay, so, last night I had this super vivid dream, and it got me thinking about birthdays and what they symbolize in our subconscious. So, I decided to dive in and do a little experiment.
My Dream Journal Experiment
First, I grabbed my trusty notebook – the one I use for all my random thoughts and, well, dream journaling. I started by writing down everything I could remember from the dream. It involved a surprise birthday party, but it wasn’t for me. It was for a childhood friend I haven’t seen in ages!
Next, I spent some time free-associating. I jotted down words that popped into my head when I thought about “birthdays” and “dreams.” Stuff like:
- Celebration
- New beginnings
- Getting older (yikes!)
- Surprises
- Nostalgia
I spent the day reflecting that it made me think about my own upcoming birthday and some of the changes I’ve been wanting to make in my life.
I had to remind myself to focus, and record my own random thoughts from doing this. I looked at my dream journal again. Surprise party… childhood friend… It felt like maybe my subconscious was telling me to reconnect with people from my past, or maybe to embrace the unexpected more.
So I decided to take a small step. I sent a quick message to that friend from my dream. Haven’t heard back yet, but hey, it’s a start! I also made a list of some small “surprises” I could incorporate into my week – trying a new coffee shop, taking a different route to work, that kind of thing.
It’s still early days, but this little experiment has already made me feel more… aware, I guess? Like I’m paying more attention to the signals my brain is sending me. I’m gonna keep tracking my dreams and see what else pops up. Maybe birthdays are a bigger deal in our dream world than we realize!
