Okay, so I’ve been getting really into tarot lately, and I stumbled across this thing called the “Future Love” spread. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, who isn’t a little curious about what’s coming down the pipeline romance-wise, right?
So, first, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck – the one with the really pretty artwork. I find that using a deck I vibe with makes the whole experience feel more personal. Then I cleared my space. I like to light a candle and maybe put on some chill music, just to set a nice, calm atmosphere. You know, make it feel a little special.
Next, I spent a few minutes just shuffling the cards. I don’t rush this part. I just focus on the question I have about my future love life. I try to put all of my question and want of my future love in mind to the *’s kind of like meditating, I guess. It helps me get centered and really connect with the cards.
The Spread Itself
After shuffling, I laid out the cards according to the “Future Love” spread pattern I found. It usually involves these positions (though there might be slight variations):
- Card 1: Me, my current state in love.
- Card 2: What I desire in a future relationship.
- Card 3: Potential future partner’s characteristics.
- Card 4: The potential of the relationship.
- Card 5: Challenges or obstacles.
- Card 6: Advice or guidance.
Once the cards were down, I took my time with each one. I looked at the imagery, I thought about the traditional meanings, and most importantly, I paid attention to what my gut was telling me. Tarot, for me, is all about intuition.
For example, for “My current state,” I got the Two of Cups. This usually means partnership and connection, so I interpreted it as being really open to love and ready for a meaningful relationship. Then, for “Potential future partner,” I pulled the Knight of Wands – fiery, passionate, maybe a bit impulsive. I got The Lovers in “The potential of the relationship” which is pretty self-explainatory.
I carefully write down all my interpretation in my tarot journal.I write down the card, my initial thoughts, and then any insights that come up later. I also look back at old readings to see what’s changed.
Honestly, it’s more about the self-reflection than predicting the future with 100% accuracy. It’s a fun way to explore my own feelings and desires about love, and maybe get a little guidance along the way.
