Okay, so today I decided to dive into something a little different – angel and tarot card readings. I’ve always been curious about this stuff, but never really took the plunge. So, I figured, why not today?
Getting Started
First, I had to, you know, actually get some cards. I went with a classic Rider-Waite tarot deck because it seemed like the most common one, and I wanted something easy to start with. I also grabbed a deck of angel cards because I liked the idea of getting messages from, well, angels.
Next, I needed to figure out how to actually do a reading. So I spent some time watching videos and, well, looking up some basic stuff. I learned about cleansing the cards (apparently, you should do that?), different spreads (layouts for the cards), and basic meanings of the cards.
My First Tarot Reading
I decided to start with a simple three-card spread for my tarot reading: past, present, and future. I shuffled the deck, focusing on a general question about my life path, and then laid out the cards.
- Past: The Chariot.
- Present: The Star.
- Future: The World.
I looked up the meanings online, and tried to interpret * seemed pretty positive overall! It felt like it was saying I’d overcome some challenges (The Chariot), was feeling hopeful and inspired (The Star), and was heading towards a sense of completion and fulfillment (The World). It felt…surprisingly accurate, actually. I mean I was feeling a sense of finishing, reaching my goals, and all the effort I did finally had some positive results.
Trying the Angel Cards
Then, I moved on to the angel cards. These were even simpler. I just shuffled the deck, asked for guidance, and pulled a single card. I got the “Abundance” card, which, let me tell you, felt pretty good after a bit of a rough patch financially. It told me to keep up a positive outlook and stay open to new opportunities. So I definitely will!
The Overall Experience
Honestly, the whole thing was a lot more fun and insightful than I expected. It’s not like I suddenly believe I can predict the future, but it did give me some new perspectives and things to think about. It was kind of like a self-reflection exercise, using the cards as prompts. I found it all really cool and I am really glad I went for it!
I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with this. Maybe I’ll try some different spreads, or explore other types of oracle cards. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start doing readings for friends! It’s a whole new world, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
