Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into Tarot lately, and today I really wanted to get a handle on the Temperance card, especially how it plays out in love readings. I’ve been feeling a bit, I don’t know, unbalanced in my own relationships, so I figured, why not use myself as a guinea pig?
My Little Experiment Begins
First, I grabbed my trusty Rider-Waite deck – gotta love those classic visuals. I shuffled the cards, really focusing on my current romantic situation, which, let’s just say, has been a bit of a rollercoaster.
I laid out a simple three-card spread: Past, Present, and Future. I like to keep things simple when I’m just starting to explore a card’s meaning in a specific context. No need to get fancy right away, you know?
The Reveal
And guess what? Temperance popped up in the Present position! I was like, “Okay, Universe, I see you.” It was a bit of a “duh” moment, but also really validating. Seeing it there, staring back at me, made me realize how much I’ve been swinging between extremes lately – super clingy one day, totally distant the next. Classic, right?
- Past: The Lovers (reversed). Makes sense, some past relationship choices definitely contributed to my current imbalance.
- Present: Temperance. The star of our show, reminding me to find some middle ground.
- Future: The Star. This felt super hopeful, like a promise of healing and renewed optimism if I actually put in the work.
Digging Deeper, Feeling Things
So, I didn’t just stare at the card and call it a day. I pulled out my journal and really started to brainstorm what “balance” actually looks like in my love life. I jotted down some pretty raw stuff – fears, insecurities, you name it. It wasn’t pretty, but it felt important. I even look at other resource about Temperance, but it is not useful for pratice, those content always only have theroy.
For me, Temperance in love seems to be about finding that sweet spot between giving and receiving, between passion and practicality. It’s about blending my needs with my partner’s, without losing myself in the process. I’m also reminded that some thing need time to work out, just don’t rush.
The Takeaway (So Far)
This isn’t some magical overnight fix, obviously. But this little exercise with the Temperance card really helped me pinpoint where I’m out of whack. It’s like the card gave me a gentle nudge, saying, “Hey, pay attention to this.” And I am. It’s a work in progress, for sure, but I’m feeling a little more grounded already. Let’s be honest, I want to be able to look back and say, “Yeah, I did that, and it made a difference.”
