List of Tarot Card Combinations Meanings: Easy Guide for Beginners!

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get more organized with my tarot readings, especially when it comes to card combinations. It’s easy to find the meaning of individual cards, but figuring out what two or three cards mean together? That’s where it gets tricky. So, I decided to make my own list of tarot card combination meanings. Here’s how I did it:

Getting Started

First, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck and a big notebook. I also opened up a new document on my computer, ’cause I like having both a handwritten and a digital version. You know, just in case.

Then, I just started pulling cards. Two at a time, sometimes three. For each combination, I jotted down my initial thoughts. Like, what feelings did the cards evoke? What story did they seem to be telling?

Deep Diving into Combinations

It wasn’t enough to just rely on my gut feelings, though. For that you must do the hard work and research. I spent hours poring over different resources. I compared my interpretations with those I found, seeing where they aligned and where they differed. Sometimes, the combination had a commonly accepted meaning. Other times, I had to piece things together based on the individual card meanings and the overall context.

I start to do my research.

Making It My Own

  • The Fool + The Magician: Okay, this felt like new beginnings with a ton of potential. Like, you’ve got the raw energy of The Fool and the skills of The Magician to make things happen.
  • The High Priestess + The Hierophant: This one was trickier. It seemed like a clash between intuition (High Priestess) and tradition (Hierophant). Maybe it means listening to your gut even when it goes against the established rules?
  • The Lovers + The Devil: This has serious bad new, and I need to be cautious of some temptaion that may lead to bad consequences.
  • And so on… I kept adding more combinations as I went along.

The important thing was to make the list my own. If a particular meaning didn’t resonate with me, I didn’t include it. Or, I modified it to fit my understanding. After all, tarot is a personal thing, right?

Keeping It Organized

To make the list easy to use, I organized it by the first card in the combination. So, all combinations starting with The Fool are grouped together, then all combinations starting with The Magician, and so on. I also added some keywords for each combination to help me remember the main themes.

Ongoing Process

This list is definitely a work in progress. I keep adding to it as I do more readings and encounter new combinations. It’s become a really valuable tool for me, and I hope it can help other tarot enthusiasts too!
