Tarot Reading for Dream Interpretation: What Does It Mean?

Okay, so yesterday I was super bored, right? And I had this tarot deck lying around that I haven’t touched in ages. I was scrolling through TikTok and saw some people doing dream interpretations with tarot, and I thought, “Hey, why not give it a shot?”

First, I had to remember how to even do a basic reading. It’s been a while! I dug out the little guidebook that came with the deck – thank goodness I didn’t throw it away. I decided to keep it simple and went with a three-card spread: Past, Present, and Future. Figured that would be a good way to get some context for the dream.

Alright, so, I had this crazy dream about being chased by a giant rubber duck through a shopping mall. Totally random, I know! I focused on the feeling the dream gave me – mostly anxiety and a little bit of amusement. I tried to picture the duck in my mind while shuffling the cards.

Pulled the first card for the “Past” position. It was the Five of Swords. Ugh. According to the book, this means conflict, disagreements, feeling defeated. Okay, thinking back, I HAVE been arguing a lot with my roommate lately about whose turn it is to clean the bathroom. Maybe that’s where the anxiety is coming from?

Next, I pulled the card for the “Present” position. Got the Queen of Cups. This one’s a bit better. It represents intuition, compassion, and emotional stability. Maybe the dream is telling me to be more understanding and try to see things from my roommate’s perspective? Like, she’s probably stressed too.

Finally, the card for the “Future” position: The Tower. Whoa. That’s…intense. It means sudden change, upheaval, destruction. This could be bad news for the roommate situation. Maybe we’re headed for a major blow-up? Or maybe it’s just a warning to prepare for some kind of unexpected shake-up in my life.

So, putting it all together… Five of Swords (past conflict), Queen of Cups (present need for compassion), and The Tower (future upheaval). My interpretation? The rubber duck chase dream is probably linked to the stress I’m feeling from the roommate arguments. The tarot is suggesting I need to be more understanding to avoid a major conflict or life change.

Here’s what I did next: I actually talked to my roommate. I told her I realized I hadn’t been pulling my weight with the cleaning and apologized. We actually had a really good conversation, and we made a chore chart together. It sounds silly, but honestly, the dream interpretation using tarot helped me realize I was being a bit of a jerk.

I don’t know if tarot is “real” or anything, but it definitely got me thinking about my life in a different way. Plus, it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. I’m gonna try it again next time I have a weird dream!

  • What I learned: Don’t underestimate the power of a good chore chart!
  • Next steps: Maybe try a more complex tarot spread for dream interpretation.
