Okay, here’s my take on sharing my Tarot card suits practice, just like a blog post:
Alright folks, buckle up! Today I’m gonna spill the tea on how I finally wrapped my head around the Tarot card suits. It wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, let me tell ya.
So, where did I even start? Well, like most people, I bought a deck. Pretty pictures, shiny cards, felt all mysterious. Then I opened the little booklet that came with it and…bam! Total information overload. Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles…what the heck did it all mean?!
First thing I did was try to memorize those keywords. You know, “Wands are action,” “Cups are emotions,” blah, blah, blah. It just wasn’t sticking. Felt like I was learning another language with no context.
Then I stumbled across this idea: Associate each suit with an element. BOOM! That’s when things clicked a little more.
- Wands = Fire (passion, creativity, energy)
- Cups = Water (emotions, relationships, intuition)
- Swords = Air (intellect, thoughts, communication)
- Pentacles = Earth (material world, finances, security)
But just knowing the elements wasn’t enough. I needed to connect it to real life. So, I started small. Every day, I’d pull one card from each suit. Then I’d try to find examples of those elements playing out in my day.
For example: I pulled the 2 of Wands. Okay, Fire, energy…that means I should start that new art project! And the 5 of Cups showed up. Water, emotions… My friend called to vent about a bad date. I listened and offered support. See? Connecting the dots.
I kept doing this, day after day. Then I decided to deep dive into each suit individually.
Wands: I spent a week really focusing on Wands. I paid attention to my own energy levels. What made me feel motivated? What drained me? I even took an improv class to push my creative boundaries. Turns out I’m not funny, but hey, I tried!
Cups: Then came Cups week. This was tougher. I’m not the most emotionally expressive person. So I tried to be more mindful of my feelings, and the feelings of others. I watched a super sappy movie (cried like a baby), and actually listened when my partner talked about their day. Big win!
Swords: Swords week was all about sharpening my mind. I read a dense book, debated politics with my uncle (maybe not the best idea), and tried to articulate my thoughts more clearly in my writing. Lots of editing involved.
Pentacles: Finally, Pentacles. This was about getting practical. I tracked my spending, organized my finances, and decluttered my apartment. Turns out, a clean space really does lead to a clear mind.
Now, I’m not saying I’m a Tarot master or anything. But I feel way more confident reading the suits now. The key was to stop memorizing and start experiencing them. Get your hands dirty, feel the elements, and connect the cards to your own damn life! It ain’t rocket science, just a little bit of elbow grease and a whole lot of paying attention.
Hope this helps some of you out there who are struggling like I was. Let me know in the comments if you have any tips of your own!
