What is a romance tarot spread? Find your love answers easily here.

Okay, so I decided to try one of those tarot spreads specifically for looking into love stuff the other day. Felt like I needed some perspective, you know?

Getting Started

First thing, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck. It’s worn in just right, feels comfortable in my hands. I headed over to my quiet space, just a corner in my room really, but it works. Cleared off my little table, sometimes I light a candle but didn’t bother this time. Just wanted to get straight to it.

The Process

I sat down and just held the deck for a minute. Tried to clear my head, focus on what I wanted to ask about… basically, what’s the deal with my love life right now and maybe where it’s heading. Then I started shuffling. I shuffle maybe too much, but I like to feel like the cards are really mixed. Did a few riffle shuffles, some overhand ones, until it felt ‘right’.

Then, I cut the deck into three piles, just using my left hand, and put them back together in a different order. Spread the cards out face down in a fan shape in front of me.

I remembered a specific layout I saw somewhere, think it had about six or seven cards. Something like:

  • Card 1: How I see myself in relationships.
  • Card 2: How I see a potential partner.
  • Card 3: What connects us (or could connect us).
  • Card 4: The challenges or blockages.
  • Card 5: What I need to focus on.
  • Card 6: The potential outcome, sort of.

So, I pulled the cards one by one, keeping my question in mind. Just drew whichever ones felt like they were calling out. I placed them face down in the pattern I remembered.

Looking at the Cards

Okay, moment of truth time. I turned them over one by one, in the order I laid them down.

Position 1: Got the Hermit. Yeah, okay, that felt about right. Been feeling a bit withdrawn, needing space. Maybe focusing too much on myself?

Position 2: This one was the Knight of Cups. Interesting. Represents someone charming, romantic, maybe a bit dreamy. Someone I’d like to meet, or maybe someone already around?

Position 3, the connection: Pulled the Two of Cups here. That’s usually a good sign, right? Partnership, attraction, harmony. Made me feel a bit hopeful.

Position 4, the challenge: Ah, the Five of Swords. Conflict, loss, maybe some ego getting in the way. Definitely felt that one resonate with past experiences. Something to watch out for.

Position 5, focus: The Empress showed up. Told me maybe I need to nurture myself more, be more open and receiving, connect with my softer side.

Position 6, outcome: Ended with the Six of Wands. Victory, recognition, progress. Seemed like a positive pointer, suggesting things could move forward successfully if I handle the challenges and focus on what The Empress suggested.

Putting it Together

So I just sat there looking at all the cards laid out. It wasn’t like a magic answer dropped from the sky. More like… pieces of a puzzle. The Hermit me needs to be more Empress-like to attract that Knight of Cups energy, and the Two of Cups connection is possible, but I gotta watch out for those Five of Swords vibes. The Six of Wands felt like encouragement.

It gave me stuff to think about, for sure. Made me look at things from a slightly different angle. Didn’t solve everything, but it was a good exercise in self-reflection, using the cards as prompts. Felt like I spent some quality time just sorting through my own feelings about it all.
