angel number 374

Okay, so I wanted to share something that happened to me recently. It’s about this number, 374. For weeks, seriously, it felt like this number was just popping up everywhere. Not in a spooky way, you know, just… there. On receipts, license plates, the clock when I’d randomly glance at it – 3:74, wait no, that’s not right, maybe 3:74 somewhere else, maybe part of a phone number, or order number 374. You get the idea. It was just… persistent.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. We see numbers all the time, right? But it kept happening. And at the time, I was feeling really stuck on this personal project I’d been working on. It’s this old piece of furniture I decided to restore. Sanding it down felt like it was taking forever, I couldn’t decide on the right finish, and honestly, I was close to just dragging it back out to the garage and forgetting about it.

What I Did About It

So, seeing 374 all the time, it just got me thinking. I’m not usually one for signs, but it was so consistent, I got curious. Didn’t really look up deep meanings or anything, but it made me pause. It felt like a little nudge, maybe? Like, ‘Hey, pay attention’.

And I thought about that stupid piece of furniture. What was I really avoiding? It wasn’t just the sanding. It was making a final decision. So, one afternoon, after seeing the number again on some junk mail, I just went for it. I walked straight into the workshop.

  • First, I just stood there and looked at the half-sanded thing. Really looked at it.
  • Then, I grabbed the sandpaper. Didn’t think, just started sanding again. Focused only on that.
  • When I got tired of sanding one part, I moved to another. Kept going for maybe an hour.
  • Then, the big one: the finish. I had like three different sample pots I couldn’t choose between. I literally closed my eyes, spun around, and pointed. Landed on one. Okay, that’s the one. No more debating.
  • Mixed it up right then and there and started applying the first coat to a small test area on the underside.

The Result (For Me, Anyway)

It wasn’t magic. The furniture didn’t suddenly finish itself. But you know what? Making that decision, actually doing something instead of just thinking and worrying, it broke the inertia. Applying that test coat, it looked pretty good! Good enough, anyway. Suddenly, the whole project felt manageable again. It felt like my choice, not some impossible task.

Seeing that number, 374, didn’t give me the answer. But noticing it, and letting that nudge me into action? That actually worked. It got me out of my head and back into actually doing the thing. Just taking that one small step, deciding on the finish, that was the key. Since then, I’ve been chipping away at the project, and it’s nearly done. It just feels different now, paying a bit more attention to those little feelings or patterns. It’s less about the number itself, and more about listening to that little push to just get started or make a choice.
