Okay, so I figured I needed a straightforward way to get simple answers from my tarot cards. You know, sometimes you just need a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’, not the whole complicated story. So, I decided to make my own ‘yes or no’ list for my deck.
Getting Started
First thing I did was grab my go-to tarot deck. It’s the one I feel most connected with, you know? Felt right to use that one. Then, I found a simple notebook, nothing fancy, just lined paper, and a pen that actually worked. That’s important, haha.
Making the List
I opened the notebook and just drew a line down the middle of a page. Wrote YES on one side and NO on the other. Super basic setup.
Then came the main part. I started shuffling the cards. Really shuffled them well, focusing on this whole ‘yes or no’ idea. I decided to go through the deck one card at a time.
- I’d pull a card.
- Look at it.
- Think about its general feeling. Is it usually seen as positive, moving forward, open? Or is it more about challenges, stops, endings, warnings?
So, like, The Sun? Obvious YES. Put it down under that column. Ten of Swords? Clear NO. Wrote that one down too.
Dealing with the Tricky Ones
Now, not every card is that clear-cut, right? Some were a bit tricky. Take The Lovers. It often means choices. Is that a yes? For my list, I decided it leaned more towards YES, but I kinda made a mental note that it often means ‘yes, but with a choice involved’. Strength? Also put it under YES, felt like overcoming stuff.
Then there were cards like the Two of Swords. Feels like stalemate, being stuck. I put that under NO, or at least ‘not right now’. The Tower? Definitely a NO for me, usually means upheaval you don’t want.
I just kept going through the entire deck like this. Card by card. It took a bit of time, sitting there, really considering the core message of each card boiled down to a simple yes or no. I didn’t use reversals for this list, wanted to keep it really simple for quick readings. Just the upright meanings.
Finalizing and Using It
Once I had gone through all 78 cards and written them down under either YES or NO, I looked over the list. Made sure every card was there. It felt pretty good. It’s my interpretation, how those cards speak to me for a simple yes/no query.
So now, when I have one of those questions, I just shuffle, ask clearly, pull a single card, and look at my list. Tells me yes or no, quick and easy. It’s not for deep, complex readings, obviously. But for a fast check? It does the job I wanted it to do. Just my practical little system.
