Okay, so I’ve been getting into Tarot lately, and I decided to really dig into each card one by one. Today, I focused on the 4 of Wands. Here’s how it went down:
First, I grabbed my favorite Rider-Waite deck. I just love the imagery on those cards. I shuffled the deck a few times, you know, really trying to connect with the cards and get my energy into them. Then, I laid out a simple three-card spread – past, present, future – just to get a feel for the day.
I didn’t pull the 4 of Wands in my initial spread, but that’s okay. I set the deck aside and pulled out my notebook. I wanted to really study this card on its own.
I started by just looking at the card. Like, really looking at it. I noticed the four wands standing tall, decorated with garlands. There’s a couple of people in the background, and it looks like a celebration is happening. It just screams “good times,” right?
Then, I grabbed my go-to Tarot book (I have several, it is great). I read through the traditional meanings: celebration, harmony, homecoming, a sense of community. It all seemed pretty positive.
But I didn’t want to just rely on the book. So I closed it and started brainstorming my own interpretations. I thought about times in my life when I felt that sense of belonging and joy – family gatherings, finishing a big project with friends, even just a really good night out.
My experience
- I jotted down keywords: joy, celebration, stability, community, milestones.
- Then I tried relating it to my current situation. I’m working on building up my own little online community, and this card felt like a good omen – a sign that things are moving in the right direction.
- I also thought about how this card could represent a “pause” – a moment to appreciate how far I’ve come before moving on to the next challenge.
After that, I spent some time just meditating on the card. I closed my eyes and imagined myself in that scene, feeling the energy of the celebration. It was pretty uplifting, actually!
Finally, I wrote down a few affirmations based on the 4 of Wands. Things like, “I am grateful for the supportive community around me,” and “I celebrate my accomplishments, big and small.”
Overall, it was a really good deep dive into the 4 of Wands. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the card now, not just intellectually, but on a more personal level. I realized a lot today after my deep dive. On to the next card tomorrow!
