5 of Spades Tarot: What Does It Mean (Simple Tarot Card Guide)

Okay, so today I decided to mess around with Tarot cards, and I pulled the 5 of Spades. Honestly, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck lately, so I figured, why not see what the cards have to say?

My Tarot Experiment

First, I grabbed my deck. It’s nothing fancy, just a standard Rider-Waite deck I picked up a while back. I shuffled the cards a few times, trying to clear my head and focus on, well, nothing specific, really. Just open to whatever the cards wanted to tell me.

Then, I laid out a simple three-card spread. I didn’t have a specific question in mind, more like a general “what’s up with my life?” kind of vibe.

  • The first card was supposed to represent the past.
  • The second, the present.
  • The third, the potential future.

And boom, there it was. The 5 of Spades stared up in the present.

I had read before that the card is all about tough, so I looked it up online to see if there was something I am missing. I found the “5 of Spades in Tarot symbolizes a period of adversity or hardship. It often represents challenges, conflicts, or a sense of loss. However, it also signifies the potential for personal growth and transformation through these trials.”

After seeing the online data, my heart sank, but the whole “personal growth” part gave me a tiny bit of hope. The past card was something pretty positive, so it felt like maybe I’d overcome some stuff already. And the future card? It wasn’t super clear, but it definitely wasn’t another 5 of Spades, thank goodness!

My Takeaway

I sat with the cards for a while, just thinking. It’s not like I suddenly had all the answers, but the 5 of Spades did make me realize I’ve been avoiding some difficult conversations. And maybe, just maybe, facing those head-on is the “personal growth” the card was talking about.

So, that’s my little Tarot experiment for the day. I put the cards away, and now I’m thinking about those conversations I need to have. It’s not going to be easy, but hey, at least the cards gave me a little nudge in the right direction, even if it was a slightly painful one!
