6 in tarot card meanings for beginners

Alright, so check it out, today I’m gonna walk you through my little tarot spread experiment I did. I call it “6 in tarot” ’cause, well, it involves six cards. Not exactly rocket science, but the insights were pretty cool, lemme tell ya.

The Setup: So, first things first, I grabbed my trusty Rider-Waite deck (yeah, I know, super basic, but it works for me). I cleared my head – you know, tried to ignore the mountain of laundry calling my name – and focused on the general area I wanted guidance on: my creative projects and how to get my butt in gear.

The Spread: This is where it gets a little more specific. I laid out the six cards like this:

  • Card 1: Current State – Where I’m at right now, creatively.
  • Card 2: Blockage – What’s holding me back.
  • Card 3: Action – What I need to actively do.
  • Card 4: Resource – What I already have that can help.
  • Card 5: Hidden Influence – Something I’m not seeing clearly.
  • Card 6: Potential Outcome – What could happen if I follow the guidance.

The Reading: Okay, time to flip the cards! This is the fun part, right?

Card 1 (Current State): I got the Five of Pentacles. Ouch. Feeling a bit left out in the cold, like my creative well is running dry. Been there, done that. Knew I was feeling uninspired but seeing it in the cards kinda hit different.

Card 2 (Blockage): The Tower! Double ouch. Major upheaval, unexpected change. This totally resonated. I’ve been resisting a new direction in my writing, sticking to what’s comfortable instead of embracing the unknown. Basically, fear of messing up.

Card 3 (Action): The Queen of Wands. Alright! Get my act together, be bold, trust my intuition. Basically, stop whining and start creating. Makes sense.

Card 4 (Resource): The Four of Cups. Hmmm, this one was interesting. It suggests I’m overlooking opportunities, focusing on what I don’t have instead of what I do. I realized I’ve been dismissing some collaboration offers because they didn’t fit my “perfect” vision. Time to be more open-minded.

Card 5 (Hidden Influence): The Eight of Swords. Dang. Self-limiting beliefs, feeling trapped. Okay, this is getting real. I’ve been telling myself I’m not good enough, that my ideas are stupid. Gotta shut that inner critic up, pronto.

Card 6 (Potential Outcome): The Ten of Pentacles. YES! Success, abundance, stability! If I actually listen to the cards and take action, things could really come together. Gives me a much-needed boost of motivation.

What I Did Next: So, reading the cards is one thing, but acting on them is where the magic happens. I started by brainstorming new ideas, trying to silence that Eight of Swords voice in my head. I also reached out to one of those collaboration opportunities I’d been ignoring. Baby steps, right?

The Result: It’s still early days, but I already feel a shift. Just acknowledging my blocks and focusing on the action steps has made me feel more energized and less stuck. That Ten of Pentacles outcome? Still a ways off, but at least now I’m moving in the right direction. And that’s a win in my book. Try this spread out, tell me what you think!
