What is Dragon Tarot (Easy Guide for Beginners)

Okay, so, I got into this whole dragon tarot thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve always been into dragons – who isn’t? – and I’ve dabbled with tarot cards before, so when I saw this deck, I just had to try it out. It’s called the Dragon Tarot, with Terry Donaldson’s ideas and Peter Pracownik’s art, and it’s all about dragons, magic, and all that good stuff.

First off, I got myself the deck. Opening it up was like stepping into another world. The art is just amazing, all these dragons in different poses, with swords, cups, and whatnot. It felt like I was holding a piece of some ancient, magical story.

Then came the learning part. I started by just looking at the cards, getting a feel for them. I’d pick a card each day and think about what it could mean. This one card, The Fool, had me stumped at first. It’s got this dragon looking like it’s about to step off a cliff, but it’s not stupid, it’s more like it’s starting a new adventure. It took me a while, but I figured it’s about taking chances and trusting the universe, which I find really cool.

After that, I started doing some simple readings. I followed some tips from a video I watched, just a basic three-card spread, you know, past, present, future. It was tricky at first, trying to connect the dragons to real-life stuff, but the more I did it, the easier it got. Dragons are a legend all over the world, so it wasn’t too hard to see the connections.

The real fun began when I started reading for my friends. They were skeptical at first, but once I started laying down the cards and telling these dragon stories, they were hooked. I’d tell them about this one dragon, maybe the Knight, and how it’s all about courage and charging into battle, and they’d be like, “Whoa, that’s just like me!” or not.

I also tried to make it a daily thing. Every morning, I’d shuffle the deck, pull a card, and see how it fit into my day. It was like having a little dragon buddy giving me advice. Some days it made sense right away, other days I had to think about it for a while.

Some Tips I Learned

  • Getting Started: Just look at the pictures and see what you feel. No need to be a pro.
  • Simple Readings: Start with three cards. It’s like telling a mini-story.
  • Practice: The more you do it, the better you get. It’s like learning any new skill.
  • Trust Yourself: There’s no right or wrong. It’s all about what the dragons mean to you.

So, that’s my dragon tarot journey so far. It’s been a blast, learning about the cards, doing readings, and just having fun with it. If you’re into dragons and want to try something new, I say give it a shot. It’s a whole lot of magic and adventure, all in a little deck of cards.
