Crystal Visions Tarot Book: Explore the beautiful images and deck meanings.

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into tarot for a while, and I finally decided to take the plunge. I picked up the “Crystal Visions Tarot” deck because, well, it’s gorgeous, and I’m a sucker for anything sparkly. But then came the real challenge – actually understanding what the heck all those pretty pictures meant! That’s where the “Crystal Visions Tarot” book comes in.

First, I opened the box and was immediately hit with that new-deck smell. Love it! I gently took out the cards and flipped through them, just admiring the artwork. Seriously, each card is like a tiny, beautiful painting. But, let’s be real, I had no clue what I was looking at.

So, I grabbed the book. It’s not a huge, intimidating textbook, which is good. It’s more like a friendly guidebook. I started by reading the introduction, which gave a little background on the deck’s creator, Jennifer Galasso, and her inspiration. It was interesting to learn about the thought process behind the imagery.

Then, I dove into the card meanings. Each card gets its own page, which is super helpful. The book breaks down each card like this:

  • A description of the image: What’s actually happening in the picture?
  • Keywords: A few words to sum up the card’s main vibe.
  • Upright meaning: What the card generally means when it’s right-side up.
  • Reversed meaning: What it means when the card is upside down (which, apparently, changes things!).
  • Symbolism: This part is cool – it explains the meaning behind specific elements in the image, like colors, animals, or objects.

I spent a good couple of hours just reading through the card meanings. I didn’t try to memorize everything at once, because, honestly, that’s impossible. Instead, I focused on getting a general feel for each card. I picked out a few cards that really resonated with me and spent extra time reading their descriptions.

After that, I decided to try a simple three-card spread (past, present, future). I shuffled the deck, focused on my question (which was something super basic, like “What’s the energy of my day today?”), and laid out the cards.

Then, I went back to the book and looked up the meanings of the three cards I drew. It was actually kind of spooky how well they seemed to fit my situation! I mean, I’m still a total beginner, but it felt like I was starting to get a glimpse into the language of tarot.

It has been a fulfilling day. I have done many practices based on the book.
