Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, and I thought it would be fun to do a 10-card spread and just see what comes up. I’m not a pro or anything, just a curious dabbler.
First, I grabbed my deck. I have this Rider-Waite deck that I picked up a while ago. It’s pretty standard, nothing fancy, but I like the artwork.
Next, I shuffled the cards. I don’t have a specific method, I just kind of mix them up until I feel like they’re good and scrambled. I guess that’s a good start?
- I did it several times, and drop some cards on the desk, haha!
Then, I laid out the cards. I used the Celtic Cross spread. It’s got positions for things like:
- The Present
- The Challenge
- The Past
- The Future
- and a bunch of other stuff.
Honestly, I had to look up the layout online because I couldn’t remember all the positions.
Once the cards were down, I started looking at them. It got a little intense, not gonna lie! Some of the cards were pretty straightforward, like The Sun, which usually means good vibes and happiness. But then there were others, like The Tower, that are a little more… dramatic. It signals big changes, and can be kind of scary.
I spent a good amount of time just staring at the cards, one by one, and thinking about what they could mean in my current situation. I’m not taking any of this as gospel, of course, but it’s interesting to see how the cards relate to what’s going on in my life. Some of the cards were upright, and some were reversed. I think they mean a different way in that time.
After that, I tried to piece together a “story” from the cards. Like, how does the past card relate to the present card? What’s the challenge I’m facing, and what does the outcome card suggest? It’s like a little puzzle, really. And I don’t have a good record for doing this, so I will try it later.
Finally, I wrote down my thoughts. I jotted down the cards I pulled and my initial interpretations. It’s kind of messy, but it helps me remember what I was thinking. I might go back later and add more notes as things develop.
Overall, it was a pretty cool experience. It’s not something I do every day, but it’s a fun way to reflect and maybe get a different perspective on things. I wouldn’t say it’s “fortune-telling,” but more like a tool for self-reflection. Give it a try sometime, might be fun.
