Can karma tarot predict my future? Learn how these cards reveal potential outcomes.

So, I started messing around with this Karma Tarot thing a while back. Wasn’t really looking for fortune-telling, more like trying to figure out why certain patterns kept showing up in my life. You know, the same kinda mess repeating itself. Seemed like maybe this “karma” angle in tarot could offer a different way to look at it.

First step was getting a deck. Just grabbed one that looked decent online, nothing fancy. Honestly, the little booklet that came with it was mostly confusing. Lots of talk about past lives and big cosmic debts. Felt a bit much.

My First Attempts

I decided to just ignore the complicated spreads at first. Too many cards, too many positions meaning different things. Felt like homework I didn’t want to do. Instead, I just started pulling one card. Maybe three at most.

  • Card 1: What action from my past might be influencing things now?
  • Card 2: What’s the current situation related to that?
  • Card 3: What’s a potential outcome or lesson if I keep going this way?

Even that felt clunky. Sometimes the cards made zero sense together. Pulled the ‘Tower’ next to the ‘Lovers’ when asking about a work issue. What was that supposed to mean? Disaster romance at the office? Didn’t feel right.

Finding My Groove

It took a while, maybe a few months of on-and-off trying. I stopped trying to make the cards predict anything specific. That felt like a waste of time. Instead, I started using them more like conversation starters with myself.

Here’s what worked for me: I’d think about a situation where I felt stuck, or where I knew I’d made a similar mistake before. Then I’d pull a card, just one. Didn’t matter which one, really. I’d look at the picture, think about the traditional meaning a little bit, but mostly just let my mind wander about how the image or the idea of the card connected to my situation and my past choices.

For example, got laid off unexpectedly a couple years back. Felt totally blindsided and angry. Kept pulling cards trying to figure out “why me?”. Got the ‘Justice’ card a few times. At first, I was mad – felt like the opposite of justice! But sitting with it, thinking about the idea of balance, cause and effect… it made me look back at my own performance, maybe times I slacked off, projects I didn’t fight hard enough for. Didn’t make the layoff fair, not really. But it shifted my focus from blaming outwards to thinking about my own part in the whole sequence of events. That felt more useful, more like understanding the “karma” of my own actions leading to consequences, even unfair ones.

Where I’m At Now

So, do I think Karma Tarot holds some ancient cosmic secrets? Probably not. For me, it turned into a tool. It’s like a weird mirror sometimes. The cards don’t tell me the future or reveal past lives.

But pulling a card forces me to stop and think about a problem from a different angle. The “karma” part isn’t about some grand universal scorecard, it’s just looking honestly at cause and effect in my own damn life. What did I do? What happened next? What patterns are there? The cards just give me a picture to hang those thoughts on.

I don’t use it every day, or even every week. Just when I feel stuck in that old familiar loop. It’s one way, not the only way, to untangle things a bit. Still feels a bit weird sometimes, but hey, whatever helps you make sense of your own messes, right?
