Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride! I started this whole thing because, well, I was curious. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I mean, everyone and their grandma seems to be into tarot these days, right?

So, the first thing I did was look up the “best tarot decks.” And man, there are a LOT of them. It’s kinda overwhelming, to be honest. But from what I gathered, the Rider-Waite deck is like the granddaddy of them all, especially for newbies like me. People say it’s the most popular one, and the pictures on the cards are pretty easy to understand. They said the symbols on them are not too complicated, which is good because I didn’t want to get a headache just trying to figure out what a card means.
I decided to grab a Rider-Waite deck and give it a shot. I mean it can’t hurt, right? When I got the cards, I spent a good chunk of time just looking at them, getting a feel for the artwork. I gotta say, they’re pretty cool. They have this old-timey vibe that I’m really digging.
Then came the hard part – learning how to actually read them. I found a bunch of beginner guides and tutorials online, and they were mostly based on the Rider-Waite deck. Lucky me. I started with simple spreads, like, you know, just drawing one or two cards. But then I found out that four-card spreads are great for learning. It is a little more complex, but it was still doable.
- I started practicing on myself.
- Pulled some cards.
- Tried to figure out what they meant.
- Read their meanings online.
It was a bit rough at first. But after a while, I started to get the hang of it. Some days I did better than others. It felt like my brain was slowly starting to connect the dots.
I even tried doing readings for my friends, which was, uh, interesting. Some of them were into it, some were skeptical, but hey, it was all in good fun. I didn’t take it too seriously, and neither did they.

My Final Thoughts
After all this, I can say that the Rider-Waite deck was a good choice for me. I don’t know if I’m any good at reading tarot now, but it’s been a fun little hobby. I think I’ll keep at it, just for kicks. Maybe one day I’ll get so good that I’ll start charging people for readings. Just kidding, probably not! But who knows, right?
Anyways, that’s my tarot journey so far. It’s been a learning experience, that’s for sure. And if you’re thinking about trying it out, I say go for it! Just don’t blame me if you get hooked!
