Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into tarot for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to go with the Celtic Tarot because, well, I’ve always been drawn to Celtic mythology and imagery. It just felt right, you know?
First things first, I got myself a deck. I spent a good hour just browsing online, looking at different artwork styles. Some were too modern, some too abstract… Finally, I found one that really resonated with me – beautiful, detailed illustrations with that classic Celtic vibe.
Getting to Know the Cards
Once the deck arrived (and I may have ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas morning), I spent some time just…handling the cards. I shuffled them, fanned them out, looked at each one individually. It’s kind of like getting to know a new friend – you gotta spend some quality time together.
- I laid them all out on my table, Major Arcana first, then the four suits.
- I picked up each card, really taking in the imagery, the colors, the symbols.
- I even kept a little notebook and jotted down my initial impressions of each card. What did it make me feel? What did the picture remind me of?
Then I have search some information on web, learn about the * was overwhelming!
My First Reading
After a few days of this, I felt ready to try a simple reading. I decided on a basic three-card spread: Past, Present, Future. I lit a candle, took some deep breaths to center myself, and shuffled the deck while focusing on a general question about my career path.
Honestly, the first time, laying out these cards was a very interesting experience. I did my best to interpret them based on what I’d read, but also trusting my intuition.
The reading was…interesting. It wasn’t some earth-shattering revelation, but it definitely gave me some food for thought. It felt like the cards were nudging me to consider some things I hadn’t really been paying attention to. And I just write down what card i got and what my thinking at the time.
Keeping a Tarot Journal
This is something I’ve seen recommended a lot, and it’s been super helpful. I dedicated a whole new notebook just to my tarot practice. In it, I:
- Record every reading I do, including the date, the spread, the question, and the cards I drew.
- Write down my interpretation of the cards, both based on traditional meanings and my own intuition.
- Reflect on how the reading relates to my life, and any insights or actions I might take.
It’s still early days, but I’m really enjoying this journey. It’s not about predicting the future with 100% accuracy, but more about self-reflection, gaining new perspectives, and connecting with something a little…mystical. I’m excited to keep practicing and see where this Celtic Tarot adventure takes me!
