So, I got this idea in my head the other day, “what tarot card am I?” You see these things floating around, and I figured, why not? Let’s see what the universe, or well, the internet, thinks I am.
My First Go
First thing I did, obviously, was hit up one of those online quizzes. You know the type. Super quick, ask you a few vague questions like “what’s your favorite color?” or “are you a night owl or an early bird?” I clicked through it, didn’t think too much, just wanted to see the result.
And bam! It told me I was The Lovers. Okay, The Lovers. I thought about it for a second. Am I all about relationships and big choices? Sometimes, maybe. But it felt a bit… generic? Like a horoscope that could apply to anyone. I wasn’t really sold, to be honest. It felt like getting a fortune cookie, you know? Nice, but does it really mean anything?
Digging a Little Deeper
So, I decided that a quick online quiz wasn’t going to cut it. I wanted to, like, actually think about it. I remembered I had an old tarot deck tucked away in a drawer. Haven’t looked at it in ages. So I pulled it out.
I didn’t do a full spread or anything complicated. I just laid out some of the Major Arcana cards, the ones with the big pictures and archetypes. I just looked at them. I tried to see which one sort of… called out to me. Not in a spooky way, just, you know, which one felt familiar.
Here’s what I did:
- I just sat with them for a bit. No pressure.
- I picked up a few that caught my eye.
- I read the little descriptions in the booklet that came with the deck, the very basic meanings.
And one card kept drawing me back: The Hermit. Now, this one felt different. When I thought about it, it just clicked. I’m often the person who needs to step back, think things through on my own, get lost in my thoughts. Not in a sad way, just… reflective. Always trying to figure things out quietly.
It’s funny, because The Lovers from the quiz, that’s all about connection, outward stuff. The Hermit is more inward. And that felt way more accurate for me, day to day. I spend a lot of time in my own head, working on projects, figuring stuff out. I’m not always out there making big, bold partnership moves.
So, What’s the Point?
At the end of the day, I don’t think there’s a magic machine that tells you “YOU ARE THIS CARD!” It’s more about the process, I guess. That little bit of self-reflection was actually pretty interesting. The online quiz was too fast, too superficial. But actually sitting down, looking at the images, thinking about what they represent in my own life – that was the useful part.
So, The Hermit it is, for now. Or at least, it’s the one that made me nod and say, “Yeah, that sounds about right.” It wasn’t about getting a definitive label, more like finding a symbol that helped me articulate something about myself. And that was a pretty neat little exercise.
