Well now, let me tell ya, them fancy cards, what do they call ’em? Tarot somethin’ or others. Folks say there’s some new ones out this year, 2023, that are right good. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I seen a thing or two, and I heard some things from them city folk who come visitin’ the market.

First off, they talk about this “Rider-Waite” deck. Sounds like a horse and buggy company, don’t it? But they say it’s the best one for them beginners. Easy to understand, they say. Pictures ain’t all confusing and twisted up like some of them others. Lots of folks use it, so I guess it must be alright. Millions of them things floating around, they say. Even got them gold-edged ones now, all fancy-like. Comes with a little book too, to tell ya what the pictures mean. I reckon that’s helpful, seein’ as how I can’t make heads or tails of them little drawings half the time.
Then there’s this “Crafterian” somethin’ somethin’. Sounds like one of them newfangled coffee shops. This one’s got gold edges too, makes it sound right expensive. They say it’s good for beginners too, comes with a book and all. Seems like they’re all tryin’ to get them new folks hooked, ain’t they? Easy to use, they say. Light deck, whatever that means. Probably not heavy like them old bibles we got at the church.
Now, I don’t know much about these cards, but I know a good deal when I see one. If everyone and their grandma is usin’ that Rider-Waite one, well, there must be somethin’ to it. It’s like them old cast iron skillets, everyone uses ‘em ‘cause they work good. Same thing, I reckon.
They say these new decks are real popular this year. Guess folks are lookin’ for answers, or maybe just a bit of fun. I remember my grandma used to read coffee grounds. Said she could see the future in them. These cards, they kinda the same thing, ain’t they? Just a different way of lookin’ at things.
- Some decks have real pretty pictures
- Some are easier to understand than others.
- And some, well, they just feel right in your hand, I guess.
It’s like pickin’ out a good melon at the market. You gotta look at it, feel it, and sometimes even thump it a bit to see if it’s ripe. These cards, they the same way. You gotta find one that speaks to ya, one that feels right. Don’t just go buyin’ the first shiny thing you see. Take your time and look around.

And don’t go spendin’ all your hard-earned money on them fancy ones neither. A good deck don’t have to cost a fortune. It’s the meanin’ in them pictures that matters, not the gold edges or the fancy box. That’s what I think anyways.
So, if you’re lookin’ for one of these new tarot decks in 2023, just remember what I told ya. Look for one that’s easy to understand, one that feels right, and one that don’t break the bank. And if it comes with a little book, well, that’s just a bonus. Helps you figure out what them pictures are tryin’ to tell ya. ‘Cause sometimes, them pictures, they can be as confusing as a rooster in a hen house.
But most importantly, don’t take it too serious. It’s just a bit of fun, ain’t it? Like readin’ your horoscope in the newspaper. Just a little somethin’ to think about. Don’t go makin’ no big life decisions based on them cards, ya hear? Use your own good sense, that’s what I always say.
And that’s all I gotta say about them new tarot decks. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got to go check on my chickens.
