Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “tarot year card” thing pop up all over my social media feeds. Basically, the idea is you figure out your personal card for the year based on your birthday, and it’s supposed to give you some insight into the year’s theme or vibe. I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot.
First, I had to find a guide on how to even do this. I found various websites, and I picked one to use, and it seemed pretty straightforward. It basically involves some simple math.
Figuring Out My Card
- You add up the month and day of your birth.
- Then, you add that to the current year.
- You keep adding the digits of the result until you get a single number between 1 and 22 (because there are 22 Major Arcana cards in the tarot).
For example, let’s say my birthday is July 15th, it becomes like below. I used 2024 as the year:
- 7 (for July) + 15 = 22
- 22+ 2024 = 2046
- 2 + 0 + 4 + 6 = 12
- 1 + 2 = 3
So, my tarot year card number is 3. I could have searched for the card using this number, and I found The Empress.
I looked at the descriptions, and found The Empress represents aspects like fertility, nurturing, creativity, abundance, and connecting with nature.
But it was not my card. I did this calculation again with my real birth date, and my number ended up being 8.
I checked what card corresponded to number 8, and guess what? It’s the Strength card! I was pretty excited because, honestly, who wouldn’t want the Strength card as their theme for the year?
My Thoughts on the Strength Card
I then dug a little deeper into the meaning of the Strength card. It’s not just about physical strength, which is what I initially thought. It’s more about inner strength, courage, resilience, patience, and compassion. It’s about taming your inner beast, controlling your impulses, and facing challenges with grace and determination.
This actually resonated with me a lot. I’ve been working on being more patient and less reactive lately, especially in stressful situations. I’ve also started to get back into my exercise, something i neglected.Seeing the Strength card as my year card felt like a little nudge, a reminder to keep focusing on these things.
Putting it into Practice
It’s one thing to know your card, but I wanted to see how I could actually incorporate this into my daily life.
I decided to focus on two aspects of the card: courage and control. It’s more like a mindset shift. I try to be more mindful of my reactions and choose to respond with patience and understanding instead of getting frustrated right away. I created a background with a lion on my phone to remind me to be strong.
I have found a new appreciation for strength’s essence: resilience, courage, and gentle, calm focus. It’s a reminder that I’m capable of handling whatever comes my way, as long as I tap into my inner strength.
It’s kind of a fun little experiment, and it’s given me something to think about. And to see if there’s any noticeable impact throughout the year, and I think there is.
