Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my place’s vibe lately, right? I heard about this thing called feng shui, and how it’s all about the energy flow in your home. Sounds a bit woo-woo, but I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot, starting with my front door. I mean, it’s the first thing people see, so it makes sense to start there, you know?

Getting Started
First, I cleaned up the area around my front door. It was kind of a mess, with leaves and dirt all over the steps. I swept the steps and the sidewalk in front of my house. It felt good to get rid of all that gunk. I also wiped down the door itself. It had some smudges and stuff on it, and I wanted it to look nice and clean.
Sprucing Things Up
Next, I added a new welcome mat. The old one was pretty worn out and faded. I picked out a bright red one, ’cause I read somewhere that red is a lucky color in feng shui. Then, I placed a potted plant by the door. It’s a nice, green leafy thing. Makes the entrance feel more alive, don’t you think?
- Swept the steps and sidewalk
- Replaced the old doormat with a new, bright red one
- Added a potted plant to the entrance
Adding Some Bling
I remembered reading that hanging something on your door can protect your home. So, I found this little decoration with gold coins and bells. I hung it on the doorknob. It’s supposed to attract money, which, hey, who wouldn’t want that, right? The bells also make a nice little jingle when you open the door. But for a while I considered a wreath too. It’s simple, but the coins and bells are more in line with the whole attracting money thing.
I also checked my doorbell, just to make sure it was working. And it works, yeah. I made sure to put an archway to make my front door look different. All part of the feng shui thing, I guess.
Feeling the Difference
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s the feng shui or just the cleaning and decorating, but my front entrance feels way more welcoming now. It’s like the whole vibe of the place has changed. Every time I come home, it feels… brighter, somehow. It’s like walking into a happy place.

So yeah, that’s my little feng shui experiment with my front door. It was more about making my home feel good than following any strict rules. And you know what? It worked. My front entrance feels more inviting, and I feel good every time I walk through it. Maybe there’s something to this feng shui stuff after all.
