Dreams About Coyotes: Whats the Real Coyote Dream Meaning?

Alright, so I’ve been digging into this whole “coyote dream meaning” thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I kept having these dreams about coyotes, and it felt super weird, you know? So I started to get curious and see what’s up.

First, I hit up the internet, just to see what the general vibe was about coyotes in dreams. Turns out, coyotes are a big deal in a lot of Native American stories. They’re like, these tricky characters that bring both good and bad stuff to the table. I read that the Navajo people think seeing a coyote is a bad sign, like you should turn back and not go ahead with your plans. But then the Shoshoni believe they’re all about endings that lead to new beginnings. Interesting, right?

Then, I dug a little deeper and found some stuff about how dreaming of a coyote might mean you’re being too hard on yourself. That hit home a bit, not gonna lie. I’ve been pushing myself pretty hard at work lately, and maybe my brain was trying to tell me to chill out.

Getting My Hands Dirty

Now, I’m not one to just take things at face value. So, I decided to do some of my own, you know, “research.” I started keeping a dream journal, writing down every little detail I could remember about my coyote dreams.

  • In one dream, I was running through a field, and this coyote was just trotting alongside me, not chasing, just… there. It felt kind of peaceful, actually.
  • In another, the coyote was kinda howling in the distance, and I felt this sense of, I dunno, being lost or something.

I also started paying more attention to how I was feeling during the day, especially after one of these dreams. Was I stressed? Anxious? Or maybe feeling kind of resourceful and adaptable, like a coyote? Turns out, there was a bit of a mix. Some days I felt like I could handle anything, and other days I was just overwhelmed. One day, after a coyote dream, my kid told me that I was very clever.

Figuring It Out

After a few weeks of this, I started to see some patterns. The dreams where the coyote was chill and just hanging out usually happened when I was feeling pretty good about things. But the ones where it was howling or seemed kinda threatening? Those popped up when I was stressed or feeling uncertain.

So, what’s the big takeaway from all this? Honestly, I’m still figuring it out. But I think these coyote dreams are my brain’s way of telling me to pay attention to my feelings and maybe find a better balance in my life. Maybe I need to be a little more adaptable, a little more cunning when it comes to dealing with stress. Also, the howling coyote in my dream is telling me I need to go back to my hometown for a while.

Anyway, it’s been a fun little experiment. I’m gonna keep journaling and see what else these sneaky coyotes have to teach me. Who knows, maybe they’re the key to unlocking my inner trickster, or at least to not being so hard on myself. I’m going to take a walk and relax!
