Ethereal Visions Tarot: Your Guide to Clarity and Insight

Okay, so I got this thing called the “Ethereal Visions Tarot” deck the other day. Sounds kinda fancy, right? It’s basically a bunch of cards, 80 of them to be exact, and they’re supposed to tell you stuff about your life, or at least that is what the seller told me when I bought them. I’ve always been a bit curious about tarot, but never really took the plunge. Figured it was time to give it a shot.

First off, these cards are pretty. Like, really pretty. They have this artsy, kinda dreamy look to them. It seems the guy who made them, Matt Hughes, was inspired by Art Nouveau. I don’t know a lot about art, but I can say I like it. Each card has its own unique picture, and they all have this sort of ethereal vibe, hence the name I guess.

The deck came with a guidebook. Which is good, ’cause I wouldn’t have had a clue what any of these cards meant otherwise. The book explains the meaning of each card, both upright and reversed. It seems the position also changes the meaning. It also gives you some sample spreads, which are basically different ways you can lay out the cards to get different kinds of readings.

I started simple. Just pulled one card each day to see what it meant. The guidebook was pretty helpful, I must say. It explained each card’s meaning in a way that was easy to understand, even for a newbie like me.

Then I tried a three-card spread. It’s supposed to tell you about your past, present, and future. I laid out the cards, looked up their meanings in the book, and tried to see how they connected to my life. It was interesting, I’ll give it that. Some of it seemed to fit, some of it was a bit of a stretch. But hey, it was fun!

I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now. Still not sure if I believe in the whole fortune-telling aspect of it, but I’ve found that it’s a good way to reflect on things. Pulling a card and reading its meaning, makes me think about my day, my choices, and where I’m headed.

The guidebook also mentions using these cards for moon rituals. I haven’t tried that yet, but it sounds intriguing. Maybe I’ll give it a go sometime. Also, I found that this deck was popular and they made a new version of this deck called the Luna Edition. That seems to be a revised artwork edition with greater diversity. I think it is cool so maybe I will buy it in the future.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

  • These cards are beautiful. Seriously, they’re like little works of art.
  • The guidebook is a must-have, especially if you’re a beginner.
  • It’s a fun way to reflect on your life.
  • There seems to be more to tarot than just fortune-telling.
  • Don’t take it too seriously. Just enjoy the process!

So yeah, that’s my experience with the Ethereal Visions Tarot deck so far. It’s been an interesting ride. I’m still learning, still exploring, and still not entirely sure what to make of it all. But I’m enjoying it, and that’s what matters, right?

Is it worth it?

If you’re curious about tarot and want a beautiful deck to start with, I’d say give it a go. Just don’t expect it to magically solve all your problems or predict the future with 100% accuracy. Think of it as a tool for self-reflection, a conversation starter, or just something pretty to look at. I think it’s pretty cool!
