Explore Past Lives with Tarot: Easy-to-Use Spreads

Okay, so the other day I got really into this idea of exploring past lives through tarot. I’d seen some stuff online about it and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I’m no expert, but I do like messing around with my tarot deck, so I figured I’d document my little experiment.

Getting Started

First, I needed to find some spreads specifically designed for past life readings. I did a bit of searching and found a few that looked interesting. I ended up picking two that seemed simple enough for a beginner like me. One was a three-card spread, and the other was a five-card spread. I thought I’d try both and see which one I liked better.

The Three-Card Spread

I started with the three-card spread. It was pretty straightforward:

  • Card 1: A significant event or lesson from a past life.
  • Card 2: How that past life is affecting my current life.
  • Card 3: What I need to learn or integrate from that past life.

I shuffled my deck, focusing on my intention to uncover some past life insights. Then, I laid out the three cards. Honestly, I can’t remember exactly which cards I pulled – my notes are a mess, it was more about scribbling down my impressions – but I remember the first card felt really heavy, like it was about some kind of struggle or hardship. The second card seemed to point to some relationship patterns I’ve been noticing in my current life, and the third card felt like a nudge to be more forgiving, both of myself and others.

The Five-Card Spread

Next up, I tried the five-card spread. This one felt a bit more in-depth:

  • Card 1: Who you were in a past life.
  • Card 2: A major life event or challenge.
  • Card 3: Relationships in that past life.
  • Card 4: Gifts or talents from that past life.
  • Card 5: The lesson to carry forward.

I shuffled again, same intention, and laid out the five cards. This time, the first card gave me a sense of someone who was really creative, maybe an artist or craftsperson. The second card felt chaotic, like a sudden change or upheaval. The third card seemed to suggest strong family ties, but maybe some conflict too. The fourth was cool – it felt like a reminder of my own creative abilities, maybe something I should explore more. And the fifth, I think, was about embracing change and not being afraid to shake things up.

Putting It All Together

After doing both spreads, I spent some time just sitting with the cards and my notes. I jotted down any connections I saw between the two readings and any feelings or intuitions that came up. It was more about getting a general vibe than trying to pinpoint exact historical details, you know?

I have to say, it was a pretty interesting experience. Did I definitively uncover details about my past lives? Maybe not. But it definitely sparked some self-reflection and gave me some things to think about in terms of my current life patterns and behaviors.

It was a nice activity, and it got my head thinking about some personal things that I can improve on.

I will continue to learn new spreads and techniques for next time!
