Okay, so I decided to really dig into these tarot cards again today, the ones people sometimes call physic cards, or maybe psychic cards? Whatever. For me, it’s about trying to feel them, not just read the little book.
First thing, I just grabbed my old deck. It’s worn, feels familiar in my hands. Didn’t do any fancy ritual stuff, just sat down at my kitchen table. Cleared away the breakfast dishes first, obviously.
Handling the Cards
I spent a good few minutes just shuffling. Not thinking too hard about a question, just letting my hands move the cards. Overhand shuffle, pile shuffle, whatever felt right. Trying to get my own energy into them, I guess? Or maybe just get centered myself. It’s relaxing, the sound and feel of it.
Drawing and Looking
Didn’t go for a big complicated spread. Honestly, those sometimes just confuse me more. I just decided to pull three cards. Simple.
- Card 1: What’s the vibe right now?
- Card 2: What should I focus on?
- Card 3: What’s a possible outcome or feeling?
Laid them out. Didn’t immediately reach for my notebook with meanings. Forced myself to just look. What pictures jumped out? What colors? What feeling did I get in my gut?
Trying to Tune In
This is the tricky part, right? The ‘physic’ part. It’s not like a lightning bolt hits. It’s more like… impressions. The first card, maybe I noticed the way a figure was looking. Seemed lonely, or maybe just thoughtful. The second card felt stuck, heavy. The third one had a bit more light in it, felt a bit like relief.
It’s easy to second-guess. Is this just me making stuff up? Is it wishful thinking? Maybe. But the point of the practice for me is trying to listen to that first flicker of thought or feeling before the logical brain kicks in and says “That’s silly”.
Writing it Down
Then, I grabbed my journal. Wrote down the date, the cards I pulled, and those raw first impressions. Didn’t pretty it up. Just bullet points, messy handwriting. Sometimes I’ll add the ‘book meaning’ later, just to compare, but the focus today was on that initial intuitive hit.
So yeah, that was the process. Shuffle, draw, look, feel, write. Simple. Doesn’t always yield earth-shattering insights. Sometimes it feels flat. But today felt okay. Felt like I connected a little bit. We’ll see if any of it resonates later on. It’s a practice, not a perfect science.
