How do you read your weekly Tarotscope? Easy steps for beginners to understand messages.

So, I decided to try this thing I’ve been calling my ‘tarotscope’ routine for a few days. Wasn’t really following any book, just wanted a different way to use my old tarot deck that’s been sitting on the shelf.

Getting Started

First thing, I dug out my Rider-Waite deck. It’s pretty beat up, used it on and off for years, mostly just looking at the pictures, you know? Didn’t do anything fancy. No candles, no special cloth. Just sat at my kitchen table with my morning coffee. Felt a bit silly, honestly, but figured, why not?

I decided I wouldn’t try to predict the lottery or anything big. Just wanted a kind of ‘vibe check’ for the day ahead. Something simple to focus my thoughts before the day got crazy.

The Process I Tried

Okay, here’s what I actually did:

  • Shuffling: I held the cards and just shuffled them like a regular deck of playing cards. While shuffling, I tried to think vaguely about the day ahead, like “What’s the general feel for today?” No super specific questions.
  • Cutting the Deck: Just cut it into three piles and put it back together. Standard stuff, feels right.
  • Drawing Cards: I decided to pull three cards. Simple. Laid them out left to right. My idea was:
    • Card 1: Morning energy
    • Card 2: Afternoon stuff
    • Card 3: Evening wrap-up or overall lesson

Reading Them (My Way): This is where it got interesting, or maybe just confusing. I’m no expert. I looked at the pictures and used the little booklet that came with the deck ages ago, plus my own gut feeling.

One morning, I pulled the Page of Cups first. Looked at the picture, fish popping out of a cup. My take? Maybe expect a small, unexpected emotional thing or a bit of news. Then I got the Eight of Pentacles for the afternoon. Guy hammering away at coins. Okay, seemed obvious: head down, do the work. Evening card was The Moon. That one always feels a bit weird to me. My simple thought was, maybe things will feel a bit unclear or dreamy later on, or maybe I’ll just have weird dreams.

How It Felt

Did it predict my day accurately? Not really, not in a literal sense. The ‘unexpected news’ (Page of Cups) didn’t happen like a phone call or anything. But I did have a surprisingly nice chat with a neighbour I barely knew. Maybe that counts? The ‘work hard’ (Eight of Pentacles) part was spot on, had a deadline. The Moon? Well, the evening was pretty normal, but maybe it just meant I should relax and not overthink things.

Another day, I pulled the Ten of Swords. You know, the guy lying face down with ten swords in his back. Cheery. My first thought was, “Oh great, disaster day.” But then I looked closer. The sky above him is clearing up. So, my ‘tarotscope’ take was: Yeah, something might feel like a total end or a tough blow, but maybe it’s the end of something bad, clearing the way for better stuff. It kinda shifted my perspective from dread to looking for the silver lining if something went wrong.

Final Thoughts

So, after doing this for about a week, my conclusion on this ‘tarotscope’ idea? It’s not magic. It didn’t tell my future. But, it was actually kind of useful. It forced me to take five minutes in the morning, pause, and think about my potential attitude or focus for the day. Shuffling the cards was almost meditative.

It became less about prediction and more about reflection. Seeing the cards made me consider different possibilities or ways to approach things. Sometimes it felt random, sometimes surprisingly relevant in a vague way. It’s just a tool, like journaling or meditating, I guess. A bit quirky, maybe, but it was my little practical experiment, and it wasn’t too bad. Might keep doing it, might not. We’ll see.
