How to Use Daily Reflection Tarot: Simple Tips for Beginners

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this tarot thing for a while now, and I thought I’d share how I do my daily reflection thing with the cards. It’s not rocket science, but it’s been pretty cool for me, so here goes.

First off, I grab my deck. I’ve got this one deck that just feels right, you know? It’s a bit worn around the edges, but that’s because I use it all the time. Once I have my cards, I find a quiet spot. Usually, it’s just my desk with all my usual stuff, but I make sure I won’t be interrupted. Sometimes, I light a candle. It’s just a regular candle, nothing fancy, but it helps me focus.

Then, I shuffle the cards. While I’m shuffling, I think about my day. What happened? How did I feel about it? What’s on my mind? It’s not a big deep dive, just a casual rundown of the day’s events and my thoughts.

Here’s how I pick the cards:

  • Spread them out: I fan the cards out in front of me, face down.
  • Choose one: I hover my hand over the cards and just pick one that feels… right. I don’t overthink it.

Once I have my card, I look at it. I check out the picture, the symbols, the colors. What’s the first thing that pops into my head? There’s no right or wrong answer here. I just go with my gut.

After that, I jot down my thoughts in my notebook. I write about what I think the card means for me, in the context of my day. I scribble down anything that comes to mind, even if it seems random. This is just for me, so I don’t worry about making it perfect.

Sometimes, I’ll look up the traditional meaning of the card in a book or online, just to see if there’s something I missed. But I always trust my initial reaction first.

That’s pretty much it. I close my notebook, put away my cards, and go about my day. It’s a simple little routine, but it helps me check in with myself and reflect on things. Plus, it’s kind of fun to see what the cards come up with each day. Give it a try if you’re curious, you might be surprised at what you discover!
