Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with “karty tarota” (that’s Tarot cards, for the non-Polish speakers).
So, I’ve always been a bit curious about Tarot. You know, those mystical-looking cards with all the symbolism? I finally decided to take the plunge and, well, try to figure them out.
First, I got myself a deck. Nothing fancy, just a standard Rider-Waite deck I picked up online. I figured I should start with the basics, right?
The Fumbling Begins
Then came the fun part – actually trying to do a reading. I laid out the cards in this Celtic Cross spread I found in a book. Honestly, I felt like I was playing a very confusing game of solitaire.
- Card 1: The Present. Okay, cool.
- Card 2: The Challenge. Uh huh…
- …and so on…
I stared at those cards, and they stared back. It was like a silent, symbolic standoff. I had the little guidebook, and I was desperately flipping through it, trying to decipher what the heck “The Lovers” reversed meant in the “Past” position. My brain was definitely hurting.
I tried to piece things together. I looked at the pictures, thought about the keywords, and mumbled to myself a lot. Something about choices, maybe? Past relationships? I was basically guessing.
The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)
After about an hour of this, I wouldn’t say I had a profound revelation. It wasn’t like the heavens opened up and the meaning of life was revealed. But, I did start to see some connections. Like, maybe that “Tower” card wasn’t so scary after all, just a sign of big changes. Baby steps, right?
I wrote down my very amateur interpretation in a notebook. It probably makes zero sense to anyone else, but hey, it’s my journey, right?
So, that’s where I’m at with Tarot. It’s confusing, a bit overwhelming, but also kind of intriguing. I’m definitely not going to be offering professional readings anytime soon, but I’m going to keep practicing. Maybe one day I’ll actually understand what I’m doing! Wish me luck. I think, I’m gonna need lots of cups of coffe to learn this thing.
