Okay, so I’ve been meaning to mess around with the Biddy Tarot website for ages, specifically their card meanings, and today I finally did! I’m not a total newbie to Tarot, but I definitely wouldn’t call myself an expert, either. I’ve got a deck I like, but sometimes I just blank on what the cards are supposed to mean, especially the more symbolic ones.
So, my mission today was to focus on “The Moon” card. It’s one that always throws me off a little. I feel like it’s got so much going on, you know?
Diving into The Moon on Biddy Tarot
First, I went to the Biddy Tarot site. Easy enough. I found their “Tarot Card Meanings” section, which is pretty prominently displayed. I browsed it, and quickly locate the card, and click in.
I scrolled down and started reading through the description of The Moon. Biddy Tarot breaks it down into upright and reversed meanings, which is super helpful. I liked that they give you a little visual description first, just talking about what’s actually in the picture on the card. Like, the actual moon, the dogs, the crayfish… all that stuff. For me, that’s a good starting point.
Then they go into what the card represents, in general terms. Stuff like intuition, illusions, and the subconscious. I made sure to read all of it. I even jotted down a few keywords in my notebook:
- Upright: Illusion, fear, anxiety, subconscious, intuition
- Reversed: Release of fear, repressed emotion, inner confusion
I spent a good 20 minutes just absorbing that information. Biddy Tarot also has sections on how The Moon might apply to different areas of your life, like love, career, and finances. I mostly focused on the general meaning, though.
To really see if I understood it, I pulled out my own deck and found The Moon card. I laid it down and, using the Biddy Tarot description as a guide, tried to interpret it without looking back at the site. I imagined a few different scenarios where this card might pop up in a reading and thought about what it might mean in each context.
Honestly, it really clicked! I think it’s because Biddy Tarot’s explanations are so clear and straightforward. They give you the basics, but they also give you enough detail that you can start to apply it to real-life situations. I finally Feel like I’ve got a better handle on that mysterious Moon card!
My next step is to try doing a practice reading with a few cards, including The Moon, and see if I can apply what I learned. It’s one thing to read about a card, but it’s another thing to actually use it in a spread. Baby steps, right?
