Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of luggage in my dreams lately. Like, a LOT. Suitcases, backpacks, duffel bags… you name it. It’s been kinda weird, so I decided to do some digging and figure out what’s going on.
My Dream Journal
First things first, I started keeping a dream journal. Every morning, right when I woke up, I grabbed my notebook and scribbled down everything I could remember. Dates, times, specific details about the luggage…the whole shebang.
- March 5th: Big, old-fashioned trunk in a dusty attic. Felt super nostalgic.
- March 7th: Bright red rolling suitcase at an airport. I was rushing, felt stressed.
- March 8th: Backpack overflowing with random stuff. Books, clothes, a rubber chicken…?
Yep keep doing this about a week, I have some data to chew on.
Looked up Online
Then, I hit up the internet. I typed “luggage in dream meaning” into a search engine and, wow, there’s a TON of stuff out there. Some of it was pretty general, some of it was, well, a bit out there.I tried to find some sites that seemed, you know, reasonable. No crystal balls and stuff.
Figured What It Meant
After sifting through the interpretations, I started trying to connect them to what’s been going on in my real life. That stressful dream about the red suitcase? Yeah, I was super anxious about a work trip that week. The overflowing backpack? Probably related to feeling overwhelmed with all the projects I’ve got going on.
My thoughts
It seems like the luggage in my dreams is basically a big, fat metaphor for the “baggage” I’m carrying around in my waking life. Emotional baggage, work stress, all that jazz.
Now that I have my dream record and I’ve thought about it,I start making an effort to address some of the things that were stressing me * some tasks, and make sure to take some time for myself. It is a long way to go, but I think it is a cool way.
