Okay, so I decided to try out this ‘Tarot Live Yes or No’ thing I’d seen floating around. Seemed straightforward enough, right? Sometimes you just need a quick gut check, and I figured, why not use the cards for that?
Getting Started
First thing, I grabbed my trusty old Rider-Waite deck. It’s seen better days, edges are a bit soft, but it feels comfortable in my hands. I didn’t do anything fancy, no complicated rituals. Just found a quiet corner at my desk, pushed aside the usual clutter. The main thing was getting my head straight.
I needed a clear ‘yes or no’ question. This part’s actually trickier than it sounds. You gotta phrase it so a simple yes or no answer makes sense. I settled on something pretty basic, related to a small project I was mulling over: “Should I start working on [that specific project] this week?” Nice and simple.
The Process
Right, so I held the deck for a bit, just focusing on that question. Trying to clear out the mental noise. Then, I started shuffling. I shuffle like I play cards, nothing special, just mixing them up good and proper. Did it for maybe a minute or two, until it felt ‘right’. You know that feeling? Hard to explain, just feels like enough.
Then I did the usual cut. Split the deck into three piles, left to right, using my left hand. Then stacked ’em back up in a different order. Again, just going by feel.
Pulling the Card
For a simple yes/no, I decided one card was enough. No need for a big spread. Fanned the deck out face down. Took a breath, focused on my question one last time, and just let my hand hover for a second before drawing one single card.
The Result and Thoughts
I flipped it over. It was the Ten of Pentacles. Now, for ‘yes or no’, I usually have a quick system:
- Generally Positive Cards (like Suns, Cups, most Pentacles): Lean towards YES.
- Generally Negative Cards (Swords, Tower, Devil): Lean towards NO.
- Maybe/Neutral Cards (some court cards, Twos): It’s a ‘maybe’ or ‘rephrase the question’.
The Ten of Pentacles, that’s about stability, completion, long-term success, family, wealth. Feels pretty positive, right? Solidly grounded. So, for my question about starting the project this week, I took that as a clear YES. It felt like the cards were saying it’s a solid foundation to build on.
It wasn’t some earth-shattering revelation, you know? Just a simple nudge. Sometimes that’s all you need. It felt…confirming, I guess. Like aligning my own gut feeling with something tangible. It’s a handy little technique when you’re stuck in your own head and just need a quick push one way or the other. Nothing too mystical about it, just a tool I used to get a bit of clarity. And yeah, I decided I’d start that project.
