Need specific tarot quotes for guidance? Find powerful sayings about love, life, and destiny here.

Alright, so I decided I wanted to pull together some tarot quotes. Not the fancy, mystical stuff you see everywhere, but just simple lines that felt real, things that actually clicked when I was working with the cards myself.

Getting Started

First thing, I just started digging through my own notes. You know, the journals I keep after doing readings? Scrawled thoughts, little insights. Lots of pages to flip through. Found some decent bits there, real raw thoughts from when a card really hit me.

Then I pulled out my tarot books. Not all of them, just the couple I actually use, the ones that are worn down. I wasn’t looking for textbook definitions, more like interesting phrases or perspectives the authors had. Skimmed through the sections for each card.

Sorting Through It

Gathering them was one thing, picking which ones to keep was another. It wasn’t very scientific. Mostly just:

  • Did it feel right? Like, did it match the vibe I get from the card?
  • Was it simple? I didn’t want complicated stuff. Just straightforward lines.
  • Did I actually remember it, or did it stick after reading it? That was a good sign.

If something felt too cheesy or generic, I tossed it. I wanted stuff that had a bit of grit, you know?

Putting it Down

I needed a place to keep all this. Started just typing them into a plain text file on my computer. Card name, then the quote. Simple. Sometimes I’d group them by suit or Major Arcana, sometimes just a running list. Changed my mind a few times on how to organize it. It’s still not perfectly tidy, but it works for me.

Some cards were easy, tons of good lines. Others, like some of the minor court cards, were tougher. Had to really search or think about my own experiences with them to find something that fit. It wasn’t always about finding the perfect quote, just a quote that resonated at that moment.

Where It’s At Now

So now I have this collection. It’s not huge, but it’s personal. I still add to it when something pops up during a reading or while I’m flipping through a book. It’s kind of a living document, I guess. I look back at it sometimes, helps jog my memory or gives me a quick anchor point for a card meaning. Just a practical little tool I built for myself along the way.
