Okay, so I’ve been getting into tarot cards lately, more for fun and self-reflection than, like, serious fortune-telling. But I quickly realized I was kinda stuck just staring at the cards after I drew them. It’s like, “Okay, cool pictures… now what?” I needed some good questions to actually get the ball rolling. So, I started digging around and trying different things out. Here’s what I’ve been experimenting with.
Starting Simple
At first, I was totally overthinking it. I was trying to come up with these super deep, philosophical questions. Big mistake! It just made me feel overwhelmed. So I started with the basics.
- “What energy do I need to focus on today?” This is my go-to morning question. It’s pretty general, but it gives me something to keep in mind throughout the day.
- “What is blocking me right now?” This one is good when I’m feeling stuck or frustrated, whether it’s with work, a relationship, or just life in general.
- “What should I be mindful of today?”I draw the card then look at it.
Getting More Specific
Once I got comfortable with those basic questions, I started to get a little more specific, depending on what was going on in my life.
- If I was having a problem with a friend, I might ask, “What’s the best way to approach this situation with [friend’s name]?”
- If I was feeling anxious about a work project, I might ask, “What steps can I take to feel more confident about this project?” Then I try to see what I can do.
- Or if the situation is very serious, I will ask the tarot cards:“What is the best way for me to deal with this matter?”I usually feel better after doing this.
Trial and Error
Honestly, a lot of it has been trial and error. Some questions just don’t resonate, and that’s okay. I’ve found that the best questions are the ones that feel genuinely relevant to my life at that moment. Sometimes, the cards give me a totally unexpected answer, and that’s actually been really helpful in making me think about things from a different perspective. Also, sometimes I would write down what cards I drew and how I interpreted them, along with the questions I asked. This helps me to track if my skills are improving, haha.
I’m still very much a beginner, but I’m learning. It’s all about finding questions that help you connect with the cards and, more importantly, with yourself. Don’t be afraid to experiment and see what works for you!
