Okay, so the other day I got this idea in my head to mess around with Tarot cards. I’ve always been a little curious about them, you know, with all the mysterious pictures and stuff. So, I went ahead and bought a deck online. Nothing fancy, just your standard Rider-Waite deck. I figured, why not? Let’s see what this is all about.

First off, I spent some time just looking at the cards. I mean, each one is like a mini piece of art. I spread them out on my living room floor and started to group them by what I saw – like, these ones have lots of people, these have animals, and so on. It was kind of fun, like putting together a really weird puzzle.
Then, I got down to business and started reading up on what each card is supposed to mean. I found this little guidebook that came with the deck, and wow, it was a lot to take in. Every card has a whole story behind it, with symbols and hidden meanings. For example, I learned that the Two of Cups is all about partnerships and unions. It’s kind of like when two people come together and create something great, you know? And it’s not just about romantic stuff, but also about friendships and any kind of connection between people.
- The Major Arcana cards are like the big-shot cards. They represent major life events or big, universal themes.
- The Minor Arcana cards are more about the day-to-day stuff, the smaller ups and downs of life.
- There’s a card called Death, but it doesn’t actually mean someone is going to, you know, die. It’s more about endings and transformations, like the end of a chapter in your life.
Some cool stuff I picked up:
I tried doing a few simple readings for myself. Nothing too complicated, just a three-card spread for past, present, and future. It was actually pretty interesting to see how the meanings of the cards could relate to my own life. Of course, I’m not taking it super seriously, but it’s a cool way to think about things from a different perspective.
I also found out some wild stuff about the history of Tarot cards. Apparently, they weren’t always used for fortune-telling. People played games with them, kind of like regular playing cards. It’s crazy to think about how these cards have evolved over time.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure into the world of Tarot. I’m still a total newbie, but it’s been a fun little experiment. I wouldn’t say I’m suddenly a fortune-teller or anything, but I do feel like I’ve learned something new, not just about the cards, but also about myself. And hey, it’s a pretty cool party trick, right?

I’m thinking of maybe trying out different spreads next, and maybe even reading for friends, just for kicks. We’ll see. It’s definitely a rabbit hole you can fall into, but in a good way. I guess, I just needed to share my excitement.
And that’s my story for now. Maybe I’ll come back and update you all after I’ve messed around some more. Who knows, maybe I’ll even discover my hidden psychic powers. Just kidding… unless?
