Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into tarot for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to go with “The Star” tarot deck because, well, the artwork just spoke to me. It’s so dreamy and ethereal.
First things first, I unboxed the deck. The packaging was simple but elegant, a sturdy little box with the image of The Star card on the front. Inside, the cards were wrapped in tissue paper – a nice touch! I laid them all out on my table, just taking in the imagery.
Next, I spent some time just handling the cards. I shuffled them, fanned them out, and flipped through them one by one. I wanted to get a feel for the texture and the weight of the cards in my hands. The card stock is pretty good, not too flimsy, not too stiff.
Then came the fun part – my first reading! I decided to keep it simple and just pulled a single card for a daily guidance reading. I closed my eyes, took a few deep breaths, and focused on the question, “What energy should I embrace today?” Then, I shuffled the deck and drew a card.
My First Reading!
- I got The Lovers! Which, honestly, made me smile. I’m not in a romantic relationship right now, but the card’s broader meaning about choices and aligning with your values really resonated with me.
- I spent some time journaling about what The Lovers card meant to me in the context of my day. I thought about the decisions I needed to make, and how I could approach them from a place of love and authenticity.
After that initial reading, I decided to do some more research on the individual cards. I’m still a total newbie, so I grabbed a guidebook and started reading up on the meanings of each card in The Star deck. Some interpretations are slightly different from the traditional Rider-Waite meanings, which is interesting.
Finally, I put the cards back in their box, feeling pretty good about my first foray into tarot. I’m excited to keep practicing and learning more about this beautiful deck. It’s definitely a journey, and I’m just at the beginning, but I’m already feeling more connected to my intuition.
