Okay, so I’ve been wanting to create this “tarot book” thing for a while now. It’s basically a digital journal where I can record my tarot readings, track my progress, and, you know, just generally geek out about tarot. I finally decided to just go for it today.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my favorite notebook – a plain, old-school composition book – and my trusty tarot deck. I figured I needed to start with the basics: getting some readings down on paper. I decided to do a simple three-card spread for myself, focusing on my overall energy for the day.
- Card 1: The Past – Representing influences from the past.
- Card 2: The Present – Showing my current situation.
- Card 3: The Future – Indicating a potential outcome.
I shuffled the deck, really concentrating on my question, and then laid out the cards. I jotted down the cards I drew, along with some initial thoughts and feelings about each one. I didn’t go super in-depth, just some quick notes to capture my first impressions.
Adding Some Details
Next, I wanted to add some more structure to my entries. I created a simple template in my notebook, with spaces for:
- Date and Time: Just to keep track of when I did the reading.
- Question/Focus: What I was asking the cards about.
- Cards Drawn: The names of the cards, including the suit.
- Initial Impressions: Quick thoughts and feelings.
- Interpretation: A more detailed analysis of the cards’ meanings.
- Reflection: How the reading connected to my life and what I learned.
I filled in these sections for my three-card reading, taking some time to really think about what the cards might be telling me. I even looked up some interpretations online and in a couple of my tarot books, just to get different perspectives. Don’t copy from the internet directly.
Making it Pretty (and Useful!)
Of course, no project of mine is complete without a little bit of customization. I grabbed some colored pens and doodled around the edges of the pages. Nothing fancy, just some simple borders and swirls to make it look nice. I also used different colors to highlight keywords and important insights.
Then, I thought it would be cool to add a table of contents at the beginning of the notebook, so I can easily find specific readings later on. I just listed the date and a brief description of each reading.
My First Tarot Book Entry – Done!
And that’s it! My first entry in my tarot book is complete. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, and I’m excited to keep adding to it. It felt good to actually do something I’ve been thinking about for so long. I can see how keeping a record of my readings is going to be super helpful in my tarot journey. I plan to do a reading at least a few times a week, and I’ll keep tweaking my process as I go. Now, I have my own special and warm tarot book!
