Unlock personal insight with a free 3 card tarot spread: Your simple guide to understanding life events.

Okay, so I decided to do a quick tarot reading for myself today. Nothing too heavy, just wanted to try out that simple three-card spread everyone talks about. You know, the free one you can find anywhere.

First thing, I had to actually find my deck. It always ends up under a pile of papers or something. Found it. Gave it a good shuffle. I don’t have a fancy ritual, just shuffle until it feels right, trying to clear my head a bit. Thinking about, you know, just general guidance for the day ahead. Nothing too specific.

Then I cut the deck, just splitting it into three piles and stacking them back up in a different order. Felt kinda random, which I guess is the point.

Drawing the Cards

Alright, time to pull the cards. I spread them out face down, like a little fan. Then I just hovered my hand over them and picked three that felt… well, that felt like the ones to pick. No real science to it.

I laid them out in a row, left to right. Simple.

  • Card 1: The Past/Situation
  • Card 2: The Present/Action
  • Card 3: The Future/Outcome

Looking at What Came Up

Turned over the first card. This one was supposed to be about the past situation leading up to now. Got the Ten of Swords. Oof. Yeah, that felt about right, thinking about some stuff I’d been dealing with. Definitely felt like an ending to something tough.

Second card, the present or the action to take. Pulled the Two of Pentacles. Juggling act. That seemed pretty spot on for today, trying to balance work and some personal things. Felt like the card was just saying “Yeah, you’re juggling, keep at it carefully.”

Third card, the future or the likely outcome based on the current path. Got The Star. That was a nice surprise after the first two. Felt hopeful, like things might actually work out and get calmer if I keep managing the present situation shown in the second card. A bit of light at the end of the tunnel, maybe?

Putting it Together

So, looking at them together: Ten of Swords (rough ending) -> Two of Pentacles (juggling now) -> The Star (hope/recovery ahead). It kinda told a little story that made sense for my current headspace. Felt like it acknowledged the difficulty I’d been through, described the current balancing act pretty well, and offered a bit of encouragement for the future.

Didn’t give me any earth-shattering revelations, you know? But it was a good little exercise. Just taking a few minutes to sit down, handle the cards, and reflect on those three images. Sometimes just the process helps clear your head a bit. Anyway, that was my practice with the free 3-card spread today. Simple, quick, and kind of grounding.
