Okay, so I’ve been getting into tarot lately, and I stumbled upon this deck – the Salvador Dali tarot cards. I mean, Dali and tarot? It sounded wild, so I had to try it.
Getting My Hands on the Deck
First thing I did was, well, find the deck. It wasn’t exactly at my local bookstore, let me tell you. Took some digging online. I finally got one,I was so excited!
First Impressions
When it arrived, the box itself was a piece of art. I opened it up, and wow. The cards were bigger than I expected, and the colors? Seriously vibrant. Each card is basically a mini Dali painting. You’ve got your melting clocks, your weird landscapes… the whole nine yards.
Trying a Simple Spread
I’m no tarot expert, so I decided to start with a basic three-card spread – you know, past, present, future. I shuffled the deck, really trying to focus my energy (I watched some videos so do my best, LOL), and laid out the cards.
- Past: I got The * at Dali’s version, it felt… hopeful, but also kind of surreal. Made me think about past dreams, some realized, some not so much.
- Present: The Magician. This one was interesting. In Dali’s interpretation, it felt like a reminder to tap into my own creative power, even if things feel a bit chaotic.
- Future: The Lovers. Okay, this one threw me a bit. Dali’s version is… * made me think about choices, partnerships, and maybe some unexpected twists and turns ahead.
My Overall Take
Honestly, using the Dali deck was a trip. It’s not your typical tarot experience. The imagery is so out there that it forced me to think differently, to interpret things in a more abstract way. I think it’s good, make me think more.
It’s definitely not a deck for beginners who want straightforward answers. But if you’re into art, surrealism, or just want to shake up your tarot practice, it’s worth checking out.
I’ll probably keep practicing with this deck, I think need sometime to familar with it.
