Upright Empress Tarot Card Keywords: Love, Life, & More

Okay, here’s my take on sharing my experiences with the Empress tarot card and its upright keywords, just like a regular blog post.

Alright folks, so today I’m gonna ramble a bit about my adventures with the Empress card in tarot readings. Been diving deep into this one lately, and thought I’d share my notes and experiences. It’s been a journey, lemme tell ya!

First off, I started by just memorizing the textbook definitions, you know? The standard stuff like:

  • Nurturing
  • Abundance
  • Fertility (literal or creative)
  • Nature
  • Motherhood

Easy enough, right? But just knowing the words isn’t the same as feeling the card. So, I got to WORK.

My Experiment: The Empress Immersion

Okay, so my first step was to really try and embody the Empress. Sounds kinda cheesy, I know. But I wanted to get a feel for it beyond just reading definitions.

Step 1: Planted Some Stuff. I’m not exactly a green thumb, but I grabbed some seeds and a pot and actually TRIED to grow something. It was a disaster at first, ngl. I overwatered, underwatered, forgot to water, the whole shebang. But slowly, things started to sprout. Made me think about the patience and care the Empress represents.

Step 2: Creative Spree. I’m not an artist by any means, but I decided to just create something. I tried painting (failed miserably), then I tried writing a short story (equally bad). Finally, I just started cooking! Whipped up a huge meal for my family. That felt…Empress-y. Giving, creating something tangible, something nourishing.

Step 3: Observed Nature. Literally just went outside and looked at stuff. Sounds dumb, but I really paid attention to the trees, the birds, the little bugs crawling around. It forced me to slow down and appreciate the natural world, which is a HUGE part of the Empress archetype.

Step 4: Readings, Readings, Readings. I started incorporating the Empress into my daily card pulls, even if it didn’t seem relevant at first. I forced myself to think about how her energy might be playing a role in the situation, even in subtle ways.

The Results: Beyond the Keywords

Here’s where it gets interesting. After doing all that…stuff…the keywords started to mean something different. It wasn’t just memorization anymore.

Nurturing: It’s not just about being nice and supportive. It’s about providing the right kind of support. Sometimes that means tough love, sometimes it means letting someone learn from their mistakes. It’s about fostering growth, not just coddling.

Abundance: It’s not just about having lots of money or stuff. It’s about recognizing the abundance that’s already present in your life: good health, strong relationships, a roof over your head, a sunny day. It’s about gratitude, plain and simple.

Fertility: This definitely applies to creative projects, but I also started seeing it in terms of “fertile ground” for new ideas or opportunities. Is the situation ripe for growth? Are the conditions right for something to flourish?

Nature: It’s not just about trees and flowers. It’s about connecting with the rhythms of life. Understanding the seasons, the cycles, the ebb and flow of energy. Going with the flow, instead of constantly fighting against it.

Motherhood: This one was tricky, since I’m not a mom. But I started thinking about it in terms of being a “mother” to my projects, my ideas, my goals. Nurturing them, protecting them, guiding them towards maturity.

The biggest takeaway? Don’t just read the keywords. Experience them. Get your hands dirty. Connect with the energy of the card. That’s when the real magic happens.

And that’s my Empress journey so far! Hope it’s helpful. Let me know in the comments if you’ve had similar experiences, or if you have any other tips for connecting with the Empress archetype. Peace out!
