Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Goddess Tarot Deck, and let me tell you, the unboxing experience was something else! I was so hyped to try this out, and I’ve been documenting everything.
First, I gotta say, the packaging was gorgeous. I spent a good few minutes just admiring the artwork on the box before I even opened it. Then, I carefully pulled out the deck and the accompanying guidebook. The cards themselves felt amazing – smooth, with just the right amount of thickness. I shuffled them a few times, just getting a feel for them in my hands.
Getting Started – My First Reading
I decided to dive right in with a simple three-card spread: Past, Present, and Future. I closed my eyes, focused on a general question about my career path, and shuffled the deck again. It felt a bit awkward at first, because I was so used to my old Rider-Waite deck, but I took a deep breath and trusted the process.
I laid out the three cards, face down, and then one by one I flipped them over. Woah. The imagery was intense! Each card features a different goddess, and the artwork is just stunning. I spent some time just looking at each card, really absorbing the details, colors, and the overall vibe. The guidebook was super helpful in explaining the meaning of each goddess and how it related to the position in the spread (Past, Present, Future). It was pretty intuitive.
- Past: I got the card representing Freyja, the Norse goddess of love and beauty. The guidebook talked about past creativity and passion, which totally resonated with a project I had poured my heart into a few years ago.
- Present: This was Kuan Yin, the goddess of compassion. The book mentioned the need for self-care and listening to my intuition, which, honestly, I’ve been neglecting lately. Good wake up call!
- Future: I pulled Oya, a powerful warrior goddess of change and transformation. Okay, that was a bit intimidating! But the guidebook framed it as embracing new opportunities and stepping into my power. Feeling inspired, to be honest.
The Aftermath & My Thoughts
After the reading, I jotted down my initial interpretations in my journal. I really tried to describe the emotions and sensations each card evoked. Even used some color pencils and was just letting myself doddle. I also spent a good chunk of time with the guidebook, diving deeper into the symbolism of each goddess. It was a lot to take in, but in a good way.
I’ve only done this one reading so far, but I’m already feeling a much stronger connection to this deck than I expected. I’m excited to keep practicing and learning more about the different goddesses and their stories. I will keep you guys updated on my progress! And will share some of my future readings with you guys!
