Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with tarot cards for a while now, mostly just for fun and self-reflection. But recently, I got curious about using them to explore new relationships, like, what’s the potential here? What do I need to know going in? So I did a little experiment, and I’m gonna walk you through what I did and what happened.
Getting Started
First, I needed a deck. I used my trusty Rider-Waite deck, the one I always use because the imagery is super clear. I made sure to cleanse the deck first, to remove any residual energy, used a clear quartz for it. It’s ready to go now.
Then, I gotta shuffle the deck. Shuffle and think about the question, which for me was “What do I need to know about this new connection with [person’s name]?”. I didn’t want to get too specific, you know, leave it open to whatever the cards wanted to tell me. I did a couple of riffle shuffles and also fan them out and bring them back together, just to get that energy good and mixed up. I did this at a table, at the altar, which I also cleared before.
The Spread
I didn’t want anything too complicated, so I went with a simple three-card spread. Here’s how I laid it out:
- Card 1: The Foundation – What’s the basis of this connection? What brings us together?
- Card 2: The Challenge – What’s the biggest hurdle we might face, or what do I need to be aware of?
- Card 3: The Potential – Where could this go? What’s the possible outcome if things develop?
The Reveal
I flipped the cards one by one, taking my time to really look at each one. The images, the colors, the feelings they evoked…all that good stuff.
- Card 1: the foundation, I flipped it, The Lovers! The Lovers are all about choices, harmony, and alignment. This tells me that the foundation is solid, based on shared values and a genuine connection. The lovers is an invitation to make a choice!
- Card 2: the challenge, I flipped it, Five of Swords. Ooh, this one’s a bit tricky. Fives are about challenge and change. The five of swords is about conflict, disagreement, and maybe even a bit of ego. This could mean some tough conversations, or maybe some power struggles down the road.
- Card 3: the potential, I flipped it, The ten of Cups. I was excited to flip it! The ten of cups is about joy, harmony, and a happy family, which indicates there are good things on the way, good outcome is to be expected.
My Takeaway
So, putting it all together… I think that, this new relationship has a very strong foundation. The Lovers card is pretty clear about that. But, the Five of Swords is a warning. I need to be mindful of communication, and I think I should make an effort to avoid unnecessary conflict. The Potential? Well, Ten of Cups is super positive! It suggests a real possibility of long-term happiness and fulfillment.
Overall, I found this super helpful. It didn’t tell me exactly what’s going to happen, but it gave me some things to think about, and some areas to focus on. It’s like a little roadmap, or maybe a heads-up. Definitely going to keep using tarot for this kind of thing!
