Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into tarot reading for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to start with something simple, focusing on just two cards: The Sun and The Moon. Figured it’d be a good way to ease myself in, you know?
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my tarot deck. I’ve had this Rider-Waite deck for a while, but it’s mostly just been sitting on my shelf. Today that changed! I found a quiet spot in my apartment, lit a candle (because ambiance is important!), and laid out a simple cloth to put the cards on.
The Shuffle and Draw
I spent a few minutes just holding the deck, trying to, like, connect with the energy or whatever. Then I shuffled the cards, focusing on a general question about my current life path. Nothing too specific, just a “What do I need to know right now?” kind of vibe. I shuffled them really well, because I’m a total newbie and wanted to make sure I did it *, I cut the deck into three piles and put them back into one pile, Then I drew two cards:
- Card 1: The Sun
- Card 2: The Moon
My Interpretation
Okay, so, The Sun, from what I’ve read, is all about positivity, joy, success, and all that good stuff. Seeing that first was a real boost! It felt like a sign that things are generally going well, or are about to get better. I felt immediately pretty happy.
Then, The Moon. This one’s a bit more mysterious, right? It’s about intuition, the subconscious, and sometimes even illusions or hidden things. It made me think about the parts of my life that aren’t so clear, the things I might be ignoring or not fully understanding. I felt a little bit confused!
Putting them together, I figured the reading was telling me to embrace the positive energy around me (The Sun), but also to pay attention to my intuition and any underlying anxieties or uncertainties (The Moon). It’s like, “Enjoy the good times, but don’t ignore your inner voice!”I sat and thought about it.
My Takeaway & What I did next
I took some notes in my journal about my initial thoughts. I even doodled little pictures of the cards, which was kind of fun.I decided it would be a good idea to try and reflect on my emotions.
Overall, it was a really interesting experience! It wasn’t some mind-blowing revelation, but it definitely gave me some food for thought. It’s like a little nudge to be more mindful of both the bright spots and the shadows in my life. I’m excited to keep practicing and learning more about the cards! Next time, I’ll add a third for more detail!
