What is tarot deck dali? It is a popular divination tool now!

Alright, let’s talk about this Tarot Deck Dalí thing I got into. You know, I’ve always been kind of fascinated by both tarot cards and, of course, the works of Salvador Dalí. So, imagine my excitement when I found out that Dalí actually designed a tarot deck!

Getting Started

So, first things first, I had to get my hands on a deck. I started digging around, doing some research online. Turns out, this wasn’t just some recent creation. Dalí apparently created this deck way back in the 70s. It blew my mind, he was doing this stuff that long ago! This guy is not just an artist, he is way beyond the art itself. I kept digging, and I found that the deck was finally published as a limited edition set in 1984.

Anyway, I found a reprinted version of the deck that was available. I ordered it right away. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I started reading up more about tarot decks in general, especially about this popular one called the Rider-Waite deck, that is published in 1909. It was created by some academic guy named A. E. Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. Apparently, it’s a big deal in the tarot world. Also, I noticed that in the last year, tarot reading has become really trendy again, especially during the pandemic. It seemed like everyone was getting into it. Searches for tarot cards and how to read them went up like 50% in 2020 in the US alone!

Diving into Dalí’s Deck

When the deck finally arrived, man, it was something else. Each card was like a mini Dalí painting. Super surreal, full of all these symbols from tarot, astrology, religion, you name it. I mean, you’ve got your usual tarot suits, but with Dalí’s crazy twist on them. He even included himself and his wife in some of the cards. For example, he’s the Magician, and she’s the Empress. Pretty cool, huh? It felt like I was holding a piece of art history in my hands.

The Learning Curve

Now, I’m not gonna lie, figuring out how to actually use these cards was a whole different ball game. I mean, I’ve dabbled in tarot readings before, just for fun, but this was different. This deck is utilizing Waite’s delineations. I found some books and online guides specifically about Dalí’s deck, which helped a bit. I started by just familiarizing myself with the imagery, trying to understand what Dalí was going for with each card.

Putting It into Practice

Once I felt a bit more comfortable, I started doing some simple readings for myself. You know, just asking basic questions, getting a feel for the deck. Then I roped in a few friends who were curious, and I did some readings for them, too. It was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but also super fun. It’s like this deck has its own personality, its own way of communicating. His surrealistic approach is just amazing!

Sharing the Experience

And that’s basically where I’m at now. I’m still learning, still exploring this fascinating world that Dalí created. It is just so different from the “Oracle Decks”. I figured I’d share my little journey here because, honestly, it’s been a blast. Plus, I thought some of you might find it interesting, especially if you’re into art, tarot, or just looking for something a bit different to explore. If you ever get a chance to check out this deck, I highly recommend it. It’s a wild ride, but definitely worth it!
