Where to Buy a Cat Tarot Deck: Best Shops Online!

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “cat tarot decks” all over the internet, and, well, I’m a sucker for anything cat-related. I finally caved and decided to get one and see what all the fuss was about. I mean, cats and tarot? It sounded like the perfect combination of mystical and fluffy.

First, I searched around online for different decks. There are so many out there! Some are super cute and cartoonish, others are more realistic and detailed. I went with one that had a good mix of both – whimsical, but still felt like a “real” tarot deck, you know?

Then waiting for it to arrive was torture! Every time the mail carrier came,I was rush to get the pack!

When it finally arrived, I ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas morning. The box itself was gorgeous, with all these gold foil details. And the cards? Oh my goodness. Each one was beautifully illustrated, with cats replacing the traditional figures. The “Hanged Man” was a cat hanging upside down from a tree branch, naturally. “The Lovers” were two cats nuzzling each other. I could go on and on.

I immediately cleared a space on my table, and shuffled them.

I spread the cards out and just…admired them. I’m not a tarot expert by any means, but I do have a basic guidebook. So, I picked a simple three-card spread (past, present, future) to try it out.

Now, I’m not gonna lie, interpreting the cards with the cats was a little tricky at first. I kept getting distracted by how adorable they were! But, after I consulted the guidebook a few times, I started to get the hang of it. It’s surprisingly intuitive once you get past the initial “aww” factor.

For my first mini-reading, I got:

  • Past: The “Nine of Yarn Balls” (instead of the “Nine of Pentacles”). The book explained that it represented having a lot in your life, and the past good.
  • Present: “The Cat Emperor” (instead of “The Emperor”). This one was pretty straightforward, and the book mentioned it was a card all about control and stability, feeling in charge of things. Makes sense!
  • Future: “The Sun Cat” (instead of “The Sun”). Pure joy, happiness, good vibes all around. A cat basking in a sunbeam – the perfect representation of a positive future.

Honestly, the whole experience was just…fun. It didn’t feel overly serious, but I did get a sense of, I don’t know, insight? It’s hard to explain. The cat imagery definitely added a layer of lightheartedness to the reading, which I appreciated.

My Overall Thoughts

I can see how it could be seen as a bit of a novelty item, but I think it’s more than that. It’s a creative and engaging way to approach tarot, especially if you’re a cat lover. I definitely plan to keep using it and exploring the different cards. Plus, it just looks really pretty on my bookshelf!
