Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get more into Tarot, and I kept seeing this “Celtic Cross” spread thing pop up. Everyone online was like, “It’s the classic! You gotta learn it!” So, I figured, why not? I’m gonna try this whole “celtic cross tarot free” thing and see what the hype is all about.
First, I needed to find a good explanation. No way was I paying for some fancy course. I just Googled “celtic cross tarot free” and found a ton of websites and images. It was a little overwhelming, all these different versions and interpretations.
I ended up picking one that looked, you know, doable. It had clear pictures and simple explanations for each card position. Like, Position 1 is “The Present,” Position 2 is “The Challenge,” and so on. Seemed straightforward enough.
Next, I shuffled my deck. My hands were kind of sweaty, not gonna lie. I’m always a little nervous before doing a reading, even if it’s just for myself. I tried to focus on my question. I’m not even going to share question, keeping this one to myself.
Then came the laying out of the cards. This was the tricky part. I kept forgetting which card went where. I had to keep checking my reference image. It felt a little clumsy, like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions quite making sense.
- First, I did the central cross, those first six cards. That felt…significant. Like building the foundation of a house or something.
- Then I added the “staff” on the right, those last four cards. They kind of represent the future, influences, and all that.
Once all ten cards were down, I took a deep breath. It looked…intense. A lot of symbolism staring back at me. I started with the first card, “The Present,” and just tried to interpret what it meant based on the image and the little description I had.
I use intution to try to figure it out.
My Actual Interpretation
I won’t bore you with all the details of my reading, but I will say it was…interesting. Some cards really resonated, like, “Whoa, that’s exactly how I’m feeling!” Others were a bit more confusing. I had to look up some of the meanings online to get a better grasp.
I jotted down some notes in my journal. Just some keywords and phrases that popped into my head. Things like “uncertainty,” “new beginnings,” and “trust your gut.” The whole process took about an hour, maybe more. It definitely wasn’t a quick thing.
Honestly, by the end, I felt a little drained. But also, kind of…clearer? Like I had untangled some thoughts in my head, even if I didn’t have all the answers. It’s not like the cards magically solved my problems, but they gave me some stuff to think about. I’ll probably try this again, but maybe with a different question next time. And I’ll definitely need to practice laying out those cards faster!
